Protest against Alabama immigration law, Sen. Scott Beason ends without incident [stalked at church]

A protest by opponents of Alabama's tough new immigration law ended shortly before noon without incident outside Gardendale's First Baptist church, where the law's main sponsor, state Sen. Scott Beason, worships.

Beason was inside the church at services when about 80 protesters, carrying signs, arrived at the church just off Interstate 65. He left after the service without speaking to the demonstrators and had no comment when reached later on his mobile phone.

The demonstration started about 8:30 this morning at Kelly Ingram Park in downtown Birmingham, the scene of many of Alabama's historic civil rights protests and incidents.

It then moved to Beason's church.

The Rev. Frankin Tate, a protest leader, tells protesters he hopes Beason has a change of heart and that he and other legislators change the "evil and cruel" law.

Last night, the local CBS 42 news reported that “Hispanics” were fleeing the state of Alabama in fear for their lives.

Today we find out that they are actually stalking and harassing an Alabama lawmaker at his church.

Some in the state run “media” said that they had all “vanished”. Unknown if it was The Rapture or just more alien abductions.

The hysterical news “reporting” over the Alabama law is so over the top that it exposes their true intentions. It’s mostly political, they want the illegals here because how else are they going to turn these red states blue?

The white liberals that run the news media in Alabama also don’t want to lose their nannies and gardeners that they pay low wages to, under the table.

• A protest by opponents of Alabama’s tough new immigration law ended shortly before noon when ICE showed up.

That is how it should have read.

I agree.

All of these churches and “special interest” groups such as the splc and the aclu should lose their tax exempt status.

The reverend should be placed under citizens arrest for aiding and abetting criminals.

Once the Birmingham News figured this wasn’t playing well, they pulled it off the front page of their website.

Immigration law author tells farmers no changes

STEELE, Ala. (AP) - One of the sponsors of Alabama's new immigration law has told angry tomato farmers that he doesn't want to change it. Republican Sen. Scott Beason of Gardendale met with about 50 growers, workers and brokers Monday at a tomato packing shed on Chandler Mountain.

Farmers complained that the law caused them to lose workers and now they can't find anyone to pick their crops. Farmer Chad Smith says his family has tomatoes rotting on the vine and stands to lose as much as $200,000.
