Reports: Rick Perry Raised $17,000,000 In 49 Days
Outside the Beltway ^ | Oct 5, 2011 | Doug Mataconis

Posted on 10/05/2011 6:20:36 AM PDT by Clairity

Both Hot Air and The Drudge Report are reporting that the Perry campaign will report that it raised a fairly impressive $17 million during the 49 days of the 3rd quarter that the campaign was active.

Ed Morrissey breaks the numbers down:

The pace is even more impressive. Perry had 49 days in which to raise funds, rather than the full 92 days of the quarter, a rate of about $349,000 a day. The final debate in September didn't hurt Perry's fundraising rate, either. In the 42 days prior to the Orlando debate, their rate was $323K per day; in the eight days following the Orlando debate, that escalated to $478K per day. Perry's on-line operation did well, too, drawing in $1.1 million - despite, as my source says, not driving contributions with their on-line ads.

“Establishment” is in the eye of the beholder. Western Money and NE Money. Neither of them make me feel particularly warm and fuzzy.

Perry cannot buy a rebound.

These numbers are meaningless “yesterdays news”. He raised the $ when he was hot. Now he is room temperature. He would need an incredible next debate and like it or not, he cannot deliver that.

The Democrats are hoping against hope that the GOP will nominate Perry.

If the Republicans are foolish enough to nominate him, it'll merely grease the chute that lands Obama right back in the White House.

When you’re running for President you are in deep dodo if you don’t have big donors. So that statement isn’t too smart...let us get real...

How do you feel about Romney and where his money is coming from? How much has your candidate raised and where did the money come from?

It’s going to take deep pockets to win this election - how is your candidate doing?

-- I read in the other thread on this that over 60% of that amount was donations of $250 or less. --

60% of the 22,000 donors were $250 or less. So, 60% of 22,000 donors is 13,200 donors, and if each gave $250, that group donated 3.3 of the 17 million, or about 20% of the amount of money.

That group actually gave less.

The number that struck me was 22,000. The raw number of donors. You'd think he could get that many small donors out of Houston, alone.

Don’t believe everything you see in the polls. Even FOX fixes their polls to pump up their candidate Romney - Bill O’Reilly admitted on his show that they threw out Cain & Paul votes to call 3rd place Romney the winner in one of his latest polls.

The establishment does not want Perry - they can skew polls.

It’s getting real close to the last draw of cards - we’re going to have to play the cards we’re dealt very soon. Do you want to beat Obama? Or wait for the perfect candidate?

“60% of their contributors”

But are those “contibutors” responsible for 60% of the CONTRIBUTIONS? I think not.

He raised most of the money after that last debate - when the media and the establishment were saying he was dead in the water.

The media and the establishment elite will tell you anything to accomplish their goals. They will tell you who they fear by who they attack - just like they did to Sarah Palin. Perry is on their hit list.

20,000 unique donors from all 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, and Guam. 17000000 / 20,000 = 850.

The max donation allowed is $2,500.

The more max donations means the more smaller donations, so one would suspect that he was getting a lot of smaller donations.

GOVERNOR RICK PERRY: Gun Control is hitting the target you're aiming at....

Mitt Romney: We have tough gun laws in Mass. I support them and will not chip away at them.

“Palin could raise that overnight.”

Goody, so where is she? How much did she raise last quarter?

Perry has won 3 record terms as Governor of Texas. (A very hard state to govern.)

I would not underestimate his ability to win just yet. But go ahead, keep on projecting and making absolutes. If nothing else, it is entertaining watching your reaction when things turn out much different than you had planned.

That his daily donations went up after the sorry debate performance tell me that his big money donors are doing some serious bundling to keep his campaign alive.

Must continue the illusion of excitement, invincibility and inevitability. That is his strategy.

“But are those “contibutors” responsible for 60% of the CONTRIBUTIONS? I think not.”

Sure, Perry is guilty of lying, fraud, causing the draught in Texas, and killing your cat.

Of course there is no evidence of any of it, but he is guilty, because you say so.

Obama, on the other hand is pure as the driven snow, is doing such a wonderful job, I don’t think we should even run a GOP candidate against him, why don’t we just cancel the election and pronouce him king. I guess that would be the only thing that would make you happy — the way you are working for this outcome.

I did my part.

The Governor’s team has been working hard to get the word out and get the donors in. The Primaries are earlier this year, and begin in just 3 months.

I don’t have a candidate yet. But I know who I will never vote for..Perry Paul and Romney are off the table for me.

Perry is beholden to the establishment.
Romney is simply 100% Rino
Paul is....well, do I really need to point it out?
