Amen to your post 1178.

You nailed it.

And the whining of the now “victorious” political prophets on this thread (who until yesterday realistically only had a 50-50 chance of being right) is over the top.

You’d think they had been tortured or something. And they talk about us carrying on. Puh-leeze.

I feel kicked in the gut for the same reasons you do.

Now I have to adjust to a new political reality, but I don’t have to smile while doing so. Since Reagan, Palin was the only one I would have moved mountains for. I had hope for the GOP, for America, for MY family’s future.

Now, we have to determine which of the squishes, squishes least.

How exciting.

This is hardly a time to be down.

Sarah Palin has a huge family and it needs attention.

She has some very young children.Maybe in 8 years after some of the PDS calms down, kids grow up,she gets even more experience in dealing with the left, she may be in a better position to run.

Truth is Sarah will help countless Republican candidates in the Republican party to win. She and Marco Rubio support conservatives and conservatism. We should respect both of their decisions whatever they may be.

Between the two of them they are the most important assets the country and the party has. From my part I will continue to support both wholeheartedly and unconditionally.

I live in Texas. He’s a 3 term Governor.

Truth is, what people in other parts of the country consider *conservative* may not not apply in Texas. I’m sure being from Washington state, you can relate.

We don’t care much for Romney for sure.

No more cults also means no Cain cults or Perry cults, either. We will see who really has what it takes and not pick someone as the savior of the world just because the other botched one debate.

As Jim Robinson posted in another thread, "Jesus is not running", all our candidates are imperfect.

It also does not mean we have to get the most perfect candidate....just one who shares most of our conservative values and who will fight for those when they get to DC.

Romney will not fight for conservative values. If he gets the nomination, he will run to the center so fast, we will feel more abandoned than some of the Palin-Waiters here on FR.

That is why we must all work together to ensure Romney is not our nominee. Any of the others, as flawed as some are, still surpass Romney in conservative principles.

Working together we may be able to stop... then reverse the march to socialism of this great country.

Exactly.

Excellent post, good analysis!

We have to remember.Even if we get Romney,Perry or any of the other rinos they no longer rule the party!

The Republican party is rapidly morphing into the Tea Party and the influence of conservatism is rapidly killing off the remaining rinos and will continue to do so. Those who thought this would be a quick transition were wrong. Nothing of this import happens over night.Righting the Republican Party will take time.

We as conservatives now have the say so to light fires under any Republican who goes soft, kill his/her funding, run other candidates against them and whatever it takes to get the job done for the country.

They know it and have figured out that they need to move right or move out.

We are in control we just have to act like it.

Well said my FRiend. I was leaning very heavily on Palin and feel a great loss here and find myself questioning her decision.

Nevertheless, I must put my focus back on God who has given great and mighty promises to us in general and me in particular. It feels like America is down to its last strike with two out in the bottom of the ninth, the fire-balling MSM having just fanned the best hitter in our lineup. Who else have we got in the dugout? Maybe a gimpy Kirk Gibson who limped up to the batters box and hit a game-winning home run against the best reliever in baseball (1988 world series).

Maybe Jesus Himself. The time of His imminent return is quickly coming - "even at the doors."

She is a beautiful woman. If image matters so much, I would think it would have worked in her favor !

Palin's beauty worked against her.

Many Republican women would not vote for Palin because she represents everything those women say cannot be done......be a mother, a career woman, a hunter, an outdoorswoman, confident.....and SEXY!

Palin is everything a conservative man dreams of in a woman.......Republican women see this and despise her for it.

Many women are far more viscious than we think.

GW, read your thread last night. I know next to nothing about the LOTR characters, but I enjoyed your post immensely, and it helped lift my spirits.

"...the likes of you..."

"Buck up or stay in the truck!"

If you can't ride two horses at once, you shouldn't join the circus."

"Don't retreat... RELOAD!"

The likes of me? To those who really had no investment in this leader, this is no big deal. There remain, however, tens-of-millions who are the very beating heart of The TEA Party and Conservative America who understood implicitly that this was a one-of-one, completely unique opportunity to fill stadiums with conservatives, and bring out half again as many voters as O'Bunghole ever could.

Who's going to do that now? Say what you will about "the likes of me...", just remember that I am one of twenty-to-thirty-million whom you piss on with this rancidly disparaging dismissal. Go f___ yourself.

Since Reagan, Palin was the only one I would have moved mountains for.

Psalm 118:8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

You put too much trust in a human being named Palin.

Have faith. The LORD will bless this country, as he always has blessed it.

For evil to triumph, good men must be divided. Obama and the liberals always divide us by race, creed, gender, etc We are always "grouped" and never looked at as rugged individuals.

But rugged individuals must unite against evil or it will flourish.

This is the moment we must unite.

Your hearts were in the right place with Palin and now your hearts hurt.

You are still conservatives and we need you. This movement is stronger with you than without you.

Truth is Sarah will help countless Republican candidates in the Republican party to win.

I don't doubt that she will do that, but to be perfectly frank, I think she has lost something here. Her power, for lack of a better term, did not reside in her words or her vision, it resided in the implementation of those things, as an executive. Once that element of possible implementation is gone, she becomes nothing more than another political analyst, who, over time and given enough exposure, will become entirely ordinary.

I like Sarah Palin, and what I said here isn't meant to be disparaging, but it is the truth.

EL, the Lord can judge a country as well as bless it.

Since 1962, the Lord has been very slow in judging. We have the blood of over 65 innocent million children spread around the land of liberty.

We are abandoning Israel, and you know what the Lord says about thenation that does not bless Israel.

I didn’t put my trust in Sarah Palin, I put my trust in her ideals, and that she would fight for them like I would, because they are my ideals.

The evil and corruption in DC is so massive, it will need a person closely connected to God to root it out and win against it.

She could see that, and she proclaimed against it, with a moral courage born of her religious beliefs and her fight against the same in Alaska.

Her political skills are not what mattered to me—it was her courage and her love for America. She is the anti-Obama in all respects.

I am not giving up on America, but I am sorely tried by losing what I thought to be the one person who would take on the challenge and lead the fight.

Someone has to embody the conservative ideal—to identify with it unashamedly.

Other than Palin, I have seen no one in 31 years who would do that on a national level.

"Are there any Palin fans who are now switching to Perry?"

I'm one.
Caine has no government/elected office experience - would make a good cabinet member.
Loved Bachmann, but I'm finding she often engages mouth before brain - may be a little thin on experience.
I don't like Perry's stand on immigration - but don't believe a more conservative 2012 Congress will let him do anything stupid.

I'm not pissing on anybody, let alone 20 to 30 million people, because you're the only one surrendering and sailing off to the Caribbean. You've shown your true colors, and it appears they are predominantly yellow.

Go f___ yourself.

Spoken like a true loser. Would you kiss Sarah Palin with that dirty mouth?

Shame on you. Send us a postcard from whatever island you end up on.

The tea party...who understood implicitly...that this was a one on one completely unique opportunity to fill stadiums with conservatives.....

What is it that makes you now think that Palins charisma has gone away and that now she will not fill those same venues with conservative voters?

IMHO, she still will have that capacity.

In your opinion Palin will become ordinary.

I don't share that same opinion.

For me Sarah Palin has not changed. She is as charismatic now as she was a year ago. Only difference,IMHO, is she is getting wiser as she grows older.

We disagree.

She’s a joke. To take it this far and play this way past due for her to announce to people pinning their hopes on her that she wasn’t going to run. She can chatter all she wants to now. Everyone has their opinion. She is not going to have near the influence she thinks she will continue to have.
