A little late to draft anyone else. There are only a few weeks before the filing deadlines start to hit- not enough time to really build an organization.

Ronald Reagan announced in NOVEMBER, 1979. There's at least another 45 days before the field is fixed.

The filing deadlines have moved forward by months since Reagan announced. It isn’t about how far before November 2012 you announce, it is if you file papers early enough to be on the first state’s ballots. Now, if a candidate doesn’t file by the end of October, they won’t be on South Carolina or New Hampshire’s ballots for the primary.
