Pitch-Perfect Palin
American Thinker ^ | 10-6-2011 | C. Edmund Wright

Posted on 10/06/2011 5:36:15 AM PDT by C. Edmund Wright

Last night, Sarah Palin's statement -- and her breaking news interview with Mark Levin -- stressed some extremely important ideas. As such, her not running might well be among the least important topics she touched on. Yes, I know that's the news that everybody was waiting for -- but what interested me most was what Palin said about her vision for America and how she said it. It was crafted very intentionally --and it was simply pitch-perfect. Palin spoke of ideas and priorities. These were above and beyond what particular position she -- or anyone else -- might play in our arena of ideas. That she's still very much in the arena -- and planning on making a difference -- is obvious.

Sarah’s done more, innovated more (facebook posts) than any national leader
—direct retorts to President Obama,
key speeches— crony capitalism speech.

She is an innovator in national politics.

She will be written in textbooks 50 years from now.

President Obama? That weird fellow from Indonesia who croaked the
Democrat party and was a one term president.

I was speculating on a possible reason that she chose not to run. I sleep fine at night, thanks very much, and that has nothing at all to do with the actions or non-actions of ANY politician/public figure.

I thought all along that she was very unlikely to make her family run the gauntlet of press jackals again. She just as too many young ones still at home who could sustain lasting damage from that experience.

>>> She will support Perry. >>>

Her emphasis on energy as the most important building block of rolling back fundamental change could lead one to this very conclusion.

I am bereft with no where to turn.

You’re not alone. There are many of us with you, but I am considering all I know about Sarah Palin and trying to come to terms with her decision.

It was the right thing for her family ~ I am convinced of that. Sarah is tireless in speaking out and I am now hoping/praying/assuming she will take a very public role in the run-up to the 2012 election.

With her help maybe we can capture the Senate and also get a good conservative in the WH. She will be tireless in reminding them of their promises and what is expected of them, so maybe in that way she is serving our country, although it’s not the way you, I and others like us wished she would.

Hang in there Louis. You have plenty of company here.

In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem. From time to time we've been tempted to believe that society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, that government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. Well, if no one among us is capable of governing himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else? All of us together, in and out of government, must bear the burden.

That was perfect pitch. Of the current candidates or even the might have beens, who has the courage to say government IS the problem? ABO will not reverse the tide. Only someone who truly believes this can and will do it.

What a bunch of CRAP. There I said it! Talk, talk, talk. Blah, blah, blah.

If she were president, she could actually implement these policies, many by executive order. Even as nominee, she could strongly advocate for them. Not as some back bencher, political pundit. She said NOTHING (I could stop right there and be accurate) specific. Supposedly, with no title, she is free to speak her mind, well ....... we are waiting.

Drill in ANWR? Never heard that before. Stop Obama? Brilliant! WOW! I'm stunned by the brilliance.

Actually Sarah has a new title. “Irrelevant”

from a VERY disappointed FORMER supporter. I guess the people who suggested she was just in it for the money, were RIGHT!

Later in her interview she discussed her hate for crony capitalism.

That would make it pretty hard for her to support Perry then, wouldn't it?

“Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss issues. Small minds discuss people.” - Eleanor Roosevelt

Palin discussed ideas. You seem disappointed she didn’t discuss specific issues and obsessed with her personal part in the puzzle. Maybe filter this through the quote above.

Just sayin......

My grandfather was an old-school Harry Truman Democrat who was highly regarded in local party circles. They were always after him to run for local office.

Although he would have done a fantastic job, he steadfastly refused every time, soley over the issue of what would likely happen to his family as a result of the campaign.

Anybody in the extended family who had a drinking problem, a criminal record, a child out of wedlock, etc. would have been fair game.

Slimeball politics keeps many good, decent and capable people like my grandfather and Sarah deterred from holding office.

Sad...one wonders how many of those good and decent people have 'opted out'of public service for this very reason. A pox on these media vultures...

“That’s my take on it. Flame away.”

My take, also. Maybe if we get enough “rowdy” Conservatives at the convention, we could pull off a “draft” for Ms. Sarah. Otherwise, I am not very optimistic for the future of this great country.
