Reminds me of an old joke...

Q: What goes “Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop, BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BAGNG, Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop, Clip-Clop”?

A: An Amish drive-by shooting.

[ It is always interesting when the youth go through their “sowing of the oats” period in life. Before committing to church membership, they often don “Yankee” clothes on weekends and hang out in bars. They even wire their buggies with high dollar sound systems and rattle the town’s windows. ]

How do they power the sound systems in their buggies do they use a battery and a generator hooked to the buggy wheels?

I have been picturing the guy waiting outside in the getaway buggy, while all the clipping was going on in the house.

That does it. The Amish are WAY more dangerous than the Muslims. We need to immediately do something about this or America is doomed.......lol. Obviously just having fun with the thread.

[ When those Amish get together things get really wild as they go out and raise barn. ]

When they raise the roof, they really raise the roof....

No, they Literally raise the roof....

Really....

I never did think it was the Amish, I have been trying to tell people that it’s the Quakers, but does anyone listen to me? NOOOOO!

Yes batteries. Some of the buggies have little flashing lights on the back to prevent accidents at night. Again, that depends on the deacon.

One old woman complained that unlike the other kids with loud stereos, you have to listen to the entire CD while the Amish kids go by.

We need the Amish to survive, if things ever collapse, EMP strike or Solar flare doing the same, the Amish will be the teachers who help us “re-boot” and teach us how to provide for ourselves.

If there is ever an EMP event or total collapse we should form “protection groups” to defend the Amish from hungry roving hordes of entitlement zombies from the cities....

I find this story very sad. We live in Amish country and what people often forget is that the Amish are more of a cult than a true expression of Christianity. They believe that by living without electricity, etc. they are acceptable to God. Christ and his work on the Cross is not sufficient for them to be saved, they believe. They must also do works to show themselves holy and the main work is to live outside modern culture in the purer times of the past. Problem is ~ who/what determines how far one must go in the past? The bishops of the Amish community. However, if a group becomes displeased with a bishop and his rulings, they split off. Hence you can find A LOT of strife among the Amish. It’s just that it often doesn’t get to the state where they allow it to be seen by outsiders.

O.K. I’ll admit I didn’t check this out. I have egg on my face on this one!

BUT in our area there are crimes committed by the Amish, even murder and so I just assumed it was one of those horrid ones. The church fights they have do become very bitter and hate filled ...

Well there goes the “gotta be those Amish again” posts.

Yes, aren't they tiresome as hell.

And the odd thing about them, the posters think they are being clever, when all they are is endlessly repetitive on an old theme.

I wonder if we could convince this group of cast offs to target youts who have their underware showing. These Amish could pull the youts pants up and staple them in place. I would support this.

Yep. They’re dressed exactly like the Mennonites I used to see when in college at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. (The middle Shenendoah Valley of Virginia has a sizeable Mennonite population.) I always used to chuckle when I’d go for a country drive and see a Mennonite house...usually nice, tidy modern brick ranchers, electricity, maybe a satellite dish in the backyard, decent pickup truck in the driveway...and a polished black buggy next to it under the carport.

The print dresses and smaller prayer coverings identify these yount women as conservative Mennonites.

Thanks for the correction.

Google images still thinks they are Amish! - The jokes on them!
