Palin's Withdrawal Means Obama Wins
American Thinker ^ | October 8, 2011 | Robert Eugene Simmons Jr.

Posted on 10/07/2011 11:31:56 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Unfortunately, it looks like the forces of smear, slander, and threat have finally claimed their intended victim. With Palin's announcement that she won't run for president, the election is essentially over.

The calculus is fairly simple: the media and GOP establishment want Romney to be the nominee. Once a progressive is at the head of the Republican ticket, low turnout for Republicans will hand a narrow victory to Obama.

So here is how the election will go. The media hasn't seriously opened up on Herman Cain, but most assuredly they will. Cain has been in business for decades, and the liberal media will troll through every relationship, every business deal, every word he has ever spoken. If that fails, the lies will start. To see evidence of this, we need not look at far as Palin. Rick Perry, another progressive, was attacked for something that someone painted on a rock on land his family leased out. That narrative will be used to attack both Perry and Cain -- Perry for having "allowed" it and Cain for making a big deal over "nothing." Both narratives will be forwarded, potentially in the same program. Once the liberal media goes through Cain's past with a fine-toothed comb, they will doubtless find disgruntled business adversaries, accusations of infidelity, and more.

If Palin had been in the race, the smear tactics would have failed, as the establishment and media threw everything they could possibly throw to get her out of the race. Who knows what her personal reasons, in her heart of hearts, were for not running? Perhaps she feared for the safety of her family. At any rate, there is no other conservative that has as much of a head start on the slander as Palin did....

I hope Palin reconsiders.

Sarah Palin,

You gave up running to spare your family the liberal media smears.

But you think your family will be prosperous or even safe the way the U.S.A is going toward socialism? Think again. Please reconsider and run and win the presidency. Only you can save the U.S.A. from becoming a socialist hell hole. You think your family will prosper in socialist U.S.A? think again. When the socialists(democrats) achieve total power then the democrats/socialists will come after people like you who have money and are conservative first. Mark my words. think it can't happen in the U.S.A? think again. And the marxist/democrats hate you most of all because they knew you were the only one that could stop them from achieving their goal so they will come after you first.

***********************************************************

Assuredly the most absurd statement to date about the media and Palin. The reason Palin is not running this time is because she herself believes she cannot win in this enviromnent.

No matter how it`s spun, Palin`s backing was simply too confined to her fan base. Voters beyond that group weren`t going to throw their support behind her.

And, yes, the “media” will dutifully serve their masters in the DNC by going hard into opposition research against Cain. As with they did vs. Palin, what they can`t find, they`ll invent. They`re going to want to throw Cain off-message as much and as often as possible.

One narrative the “media” will trot out is Cain`s history with cancer.. they`ll frame it around whether it`s “wise” to elect someone who could “die in office in this unstable and challenging time.”

As for Romney, the “media” attack dogs have a special plan for him. Once he secures the nomination, watch for widespread attacks on his Mormon religion. Those attacks won`t subside until The onslaught produces a comfortable double-digit lead for 0bama.

I`ve always maintained that..no matter his poll numbers... while an almost perfect campaign could result in a win for the GOP nominee, 0bama is going to be extremely difficult to defeat. The forces in the “media,” the mobs he`s currently field-testing, the likely $1B he`s going to have at his disposal, and .. through it all.. a lingering desire of Americans to find reasons to like him are all powerful advantages.

And let`s also not forget the “0bama-killed-bin-Laden” propaganda movie (one that would make Leni Riefenstahl proud) slated for premiere in mid-October next year.

Without the financial crash which conveniently happened in mid sept of 2008 McCain would have won. He was up 5 points at the time and the crash, which has still not been explained, is what turned the tide.

The GOP insiders have won, unfortunately it is a Pyrrhic victory. Perry and Cain are not devils but are simply not first tier. They have shoved Bush, Dole, Bush , McCain and now Romney down our troats - all RINOs.

I am as conservative as it gets. I will not vote nor will I work for Romney. Many others will sit home as well. The insiders have little idea what they have just done.

The financial problems of this country are so overwhelming that only a true outside reformer could have changed things. Romney is not that outsider.

That's bs. A liberal media poll that over sampled democrats showed Palin just 4 points behind Obama . And that's without her getting out there and showing her true self to the people as would happen in debates etc..
Palin would have wiped the floor with Obama. I could beat Obama.

You all seem to be caught up in personalities. You all don't seem to understand the rate the U.S.A is declining when we should be rising. The country and so the world is in deep trouble.

The author claims Palin's endorsement won't be worth much because her power derived from the "mortal fear the establishment and liberals had of her becoming president".

That's nonsense.

That was NOT the source of her power.

Her power derived from being practically the only one to get up and actually say from the heart what so many people who love this country feel -- speaking for those Americans who work hard and play by the rules and do their best to raise their children properly and have watched the Ruling Class do their best to destroy the greatest nation on earth with the poison of secular progressivism and statism.

She still speaks for that soul of America and I predict she will be the second most effective campaigner for the conservative cause in the coming campaign.

Why do I say the second?

Because there is another...

One single poll gave that result. No others showed her within single digits.

She would`ve had to reach to the indies and moderates because the conservative base doesn`t hold sufficient numbers alone to pull off a victory. They were more anti-Palin than they are anti-Obama. We can visualize all we want about Palin “wiping the floor with Obama,” but the consistent stats say otherwise. Ron Paul`s backers say the same thing about their guy, too.

It’s possible a yet unknown will step in. Maybe Sarah knows something that we don’t.

article “The soft dictatorship” A very scary read and I believe he was an avid Palin fan! He is expressing his
disappointent and revealing a fear I think we all have to some extent. The fear being that if Obama does not go down in utter defeat and a true reformer becomes president then we may be witnessing The last days of a free America. He best get on The Cain Train an fight IMO!!

“I will not vote nor will I work for Romney. Many others will sit home as well.”

So, you are voting for Obama, and the Destruction of the United States as we know it, then?

the only thing that scares me is this is similar to what happened in 2008.....key candidates that were forthright and had charisma like Fred Thompson and Rudy just dropped out of sight..why?.....was it because they had inside info that the establishment was going to force barry on us no matter what?......is this what is happening now?

however, I don't think Palin could have won, not even close....

“Once he secures the nomination, watch for widespread attacks on his Mormon religion.”

I personally couldn’t care if the Republican nominee declares he’s a PASTAFARIAN, and declares that he worships the Great Spaghetti Monster next year.

America cannot survive another 4 years of this race to totalitarianism. Remember something, Hillary Clinton was TOO CONSERVATIVE for the Chomskiite disciples we now have in charge of our government.

A generic tomato soup can could defeat the current occupant of the White House.

Which is why the Left may be preparing a switcheroo, to replace the Chicago Boys with a Chicago Gal instead (Beastwoman).

One thought about Palin's reneging that keeps rattling around in the back of my head is that she saw this coming: that if she joined the fray, she might get nominated, only to see the Dems respond by ditching Obozo for Hildebeast, which would be an imponderable matchup, woman vs. woman, Beast's experience vs. Sarah's, and so on and so on.

Too, she might have figured that one more conservative in the race would guarantee Mittens the nomination (this is why the RiNO's and MSM encouraged Perry to run in the first place, IMHO: as a divider on the right, and as a Judas horse who'd play ball in the end, trapping the conservatives).

“I’d say you are right...Although Cain has a lot of positives, I can’t imagine the Republicans picking him in the primary...And with the other two, it doesn’t much matter which one gets the nomination...They won’t generate enough interest for enough people to go vote...

One thing about Palin, love her or hate her, there would have been a genuine excitement in the race that is lacking now.....Cain will not get the nomination....If he does I will support him.....The rest are just recycled McCain’s.....Out of the millions of citizens in this land this is the best conservatives have to offer?.....Love Palin, but right now struggle with resentment towards her decision.....

It takes two for lies to work. One to tell them and one to believe them. We can’t just say we are doomed and give up. They threw everything at Bush and at Reagan. What counts is how effective the response is and how vocal the support is.

This is sheer nonsense. They were begging for someone better.

I think you underestimate the moral arrogance of white-shoe Establishment Republicans and their insistence on nominating "People Like Us". Social and cultural belonging are the most important characteristics a candidate can have, to these people. Right schools, right clothes, right accent, right finances, right references, right people.

They're bigots and snobs.

No way were they going to break for Perry -- he's a cracker from Paint Creek. Look how fast that "N*ggerhead" thing came out -- the other RiNO's were painting Perry as a barely-redeemed Klukker from socially unredeemed Kluxerland. That's what the senior Bushes think about all those people -- they despise them.

Christie or Huntsman might have been a different story: even RiNO's can recognize the weaknesses in damp-squib Mittens. But they will not, WILL NOT, ever, ever, ever give up their "standards" -- snob standards. No Perry, no Cain. Hick schools, hick accents, Waffle House manners -- no way.
