Barack Obama says jobs bill could avert recession

President Barack Obama in his weekly radio and TV address said his jobs bill can help prevent another recession.
The White House has said repeatedly that it doesn’t think a so-called double dip downturn is likely. Obama appeared to suggest in his speech made public on Saturday that such an event could occur if his jobs plan isn’t approved by Congress.
“The challenges facing financial markets around the world could have very real effects on our own economy at a time when it’s already fragile,” Obama warned. “But this jobs bill can help guard against another downturn here in America.”

I'm of the view that pretty much anyone who is sincere and doesn't let ego and agenda get in the way of doing practical things, and listening to reasonable advice can be a decent president. I absolutely believe that - just about anyone. Obama is a horrible president because he is an arrogant ideologue who is driven by a resentful view of America, and who is by all objective measures kind of ignorant.
