When our forefathers designed our system of government, it was never intended that people with no background in anything substantial be elected into office and allowed to govern.
So many in office today are there only because they want power, fame, fortune, but they have never gained real-life experience and have gone from college to some menial position in some political office and began campaigning for public office almost immediately. They are not in Washington because they love their country and want to give back some of their acquired knowledge and experience...they are there because they want everyone to love them.
