So the picture I get is they inherited the money and are protected by those who manage their affairs for them. Is this correct? Are their lives so soft that they've not had to activate their instinct for survival? I'm thinking of Bunny Mellon, for one.I wouldn't endorse any such oversimplification.
Trustworthy people tend to be trusting. It's an effect of civilization that is -- apart from these few aging people -- entirely lost on this age.

Ok, I can understand that. Difficult for an honest person to detect a liar, etc.
I have friends with money on both sides of the spectrum. Hard for me to detect what causes one person to choose one pointof view over the other.
