What’s wrong with taxing consumption and easing/simplifying/lowering taxes on income?

Nothing... IF the income tax could be eliminated completely first. Everything, if its not - because then we'll have Sales Tax, VAT tax, AND leviathon-big-govt-sustaining Income tax as well.

Juan Williams estimated 30% of blacks would vote for Cain. A lot of conservatives black Christians in the south would I think.

If you happen to know who created that graphic, you should tell them that a trunk-down elephant is generally considered bad luck. It needs to be trunk-up.

I just copied it and don't know where I got it.

I didn't know that a trunk down elephant is considered bad lick.

How do they get water to drink?

Here are some really unlucky elephants.

Sales tax and VAT are the essentially the same thing.

No they aren't. There's a big difference. Sales tax bites the buyer in total only at the end of the sale, less certain exemptions which vary by state such as prescription drugs, food, rent, services and such.

VAT hits every phase of production up through every channel of distribution.

The record keeping requirements are also entirely different-- fairly simple with sales tax, opening the books to government snoops through the entire supply chain for VAT.

Part of the value of Cain's plan is simplicity-- greatly reduced costs for compliance for the entire economy. Most of those costs just get shifted instead if VAT is substituted for sales tax.

SHOCKING- Romeny actually broke 25%!!!!!!!! The 29% is higher than the other two national polls.. I am beginning to believe in the Rasmussen "special sauce". Another poll analysis showed that Romeny did NOT pick up any support from the Perry fall, it went to Cain and Newt.

So much for the talking heads who said Perry's fall was a pick-up for Romney or Perry losing the debates was a win for Romney.

The GOP better wake up and realize that Romney has been running for President for 5 years and this is the best he has ever done. He is Mr. 20%... Just because you are the familiar and a pursuant candidate, doesn't make you the front runner!

Everyone whose voted for a while knows you never get everything you want out of your candidate. They have their warts just like we do. I’m not wild about this tax either but it’s a starting place because it’s an actual plan. And it’s not like he can just move to the WH and enact it by fiat. Congress has to do that. We can simply choose the candidate that MOST represents our POV and our values and that we think has a chance of winning. People here support different candidates right now as we should during primary season. The only way we’re going to get purity and perfection is if God came down from the Heavens and ran. That’s not likely to happen. If it does then I guess we know 0bama really was the antichrist. Or his puppet since the antichrist wouldn’t need a teleprompter.

Yes, what’s the matter with all these people answering polls? Don’t they know they’re supposed to support the front runner, Romney?

It reminds me of all those idiots who didn’t realize that New Coke tasted so much better than the original.

(sarcasm)

Have there been any Black celebs, politicians, businessmen, or military who have stood up in support of Cain?

And get banished from serving in the big house on the plantation?

I don't think you will see the likes of Colon Bowel take such a risk.

But some of the rank and file might in the privacy of the voting booth.

Agreed. I don’t want the VAT door opened at all. Who would have thought it a month ago, but Newt is looking better and better by the hour. Newt would make a great president, but that baggage doesn’t seem all that bad at the moment.

People want LEADERSHIP, and straight talk. In that sense, Christie was right. He just backed the wrong person.

Texas Governor Rick Perry was the frontrunner when he entered the race and has suffered through a series of poor debate performances while sliding to fourth place at nine percent (9%).

Single digits? Time to rethink your political future Guv’na.

The problem with Cain's 9-9-9 plan is the it opens up another revenue pipeline without shutting down the commies favorite tool...the progressive tax code. He needs to modify his position before I can support him on this. This is just a trap for future “Obamas” to take advantage of. The only way to control government is to keep is on a starvation diet....Cain's 9-9-9 is more like a 9 course meal instead of a starvation diet.....

“Very interesting strategery. Maybe Palin can be the go-between in the Cain / Gingrich conversations.”

Why would they need a go-between?

Obie will not criticize Cain himself. There are plenty of race traders willing to do the job for him as evidenced by the bile that has been directed in his direction the past couple of days from so called “Black leaders”.

To me it’s obvious 999 is a starting point. Herman Cain probably thought it up while he was running on his treadmill. He was at 1%.

Obviously, if you want a Fair Tax or Flat Tax— Herman Cain is our BEST CHANCE to blow up the current tax code.
