Sales tax and VAT are the essentially the same thing.

I don't see how that's possible. U.S. business to business sales are exempt under 9-9-9.

So is John Gibson on Fox Talk radio.

I use to like Gibson but now I think he's beyond ridiculous.

My old polisci teacher from back in my college freshman days used to tell this story about vice-presidents:

Two brothers grew up and chose careers. One became a sailor and went to sea. One became vice-president. Neither one was ever heard from again.

Looks like Ricardo Perrywinkles is down and out. Slick Willard can now be easily dispatched by Cain.

Cain 2012!

Wages and salaries are an investment in the business which is not taxed. Go back to playing bass and paroling felons.

It's happened 9 times out of 44 Presidents. So not a good possibility, but still around 20%. Also, Cain will soon be 66 and has had Stage 4 cancer.

I just know I wouldn't want Romney to be VP because I don't want any chance of him becoming President one day.

It should be clear by now to all even the most ardent ‘Cainiac’ that the polls show that Cain can not win. And if Cain is the conservative he claims to be and not a stalking horse for Romney he needs to pull out of the race and endorse Perry.

***

Almost perfect: You forgot to mention that “Perry is inevitable” because he “has money” and “ground game” and “can win”.

“A solid B+” :)

Newt would make a great president, but that baggage doesn’t seem all that bad at the moment.

It's like "burning the boats" or "burning the bridges"

burning the baggage for Newt.

And Herman could camapign as the only real "green" candidate...we can reuse all our old "McCain" stuff..

And unlike McCain (who speaks with a forked tongue from both sides of his mouth)

Cain speaks with CLARITY....

Cain's foreign policy:

Clarify who are our enemies and stop sending them money.

“A lot of people here with other favorites claim Cain isn’t qualified because he doesn’t have the political experience. As I pointed out on another thread last evening, that isn’t a qualification for the presidency as outlined in the US Constitution. “

That’s not the point. Does he have the ability to handle the pressures, rigors and issues? The Establishment *will* take out Cain sooner or later, and use foreign policy to do it. Cain has already made embarrassing gaffes there and they will use it to show his lack of experience could be ‘troubling’.

“That flies in the face of what we are all about. How can we say we’re serious about downsizing government, bringing power back to the people, and retaking control over a workable Constitutional Republic if we don’t honor those outside of government who’ve proven themselves as leaders?”

I agree, but it’s questionable that president is an entry-level position. Business experience is great, but political leadership is quite different.

“It’s a bogus argument from frightened people; frightened because they see their candidate losing popularity.”

You may call it bogus, but if people vote based on it, it will have to be addressed.

Gingrich a possibility for Chief of Staff or another cabinet position. But not for Veep. They pick ‘em for what area of the country or what nationality they need to win.

and Herman, please find a way to ditch 999.

NOW WE”RE TALKIN:
Appearing on the Nashville-based nationally syndicated Steve Gill Show today GOP Presidential candidate Herman Cain specifically mentioned Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) as the type of people he would consider a good fit for his Cabinet or for the Vice Presidential slot on his ticket. “I will be looking for someone as Vice President who understands problem solving the same way that I do,” Cain noted. “There might be different styles of leadership but there is only one formula for successful leadership: making sure you know how to identify the right problem, set the right priorities, and surround yourself with good people. You can’t be so egotistical that you are afraid to hire people smarter than you.”

“There are some people in Congress that are very, very good and who I respect and admire and would love to have on my team whether in a VP slot or a Cabinet position,” Cain explained as he pointed out that a Vice President who has some Washington, DC experience would be an asset and fill the blanks in his own career. “Based upon my thinking today I would probably look for someone who has had experience in Congress — not so much with the attitude of ‘here’s how we have to do it’ but rather because they know how it has been done and here’s what we have to do differently.” Cain also noted that at some point he hopes to involve former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in his efforts because he is a “brilliant mind” who brings so much “knowledge and insight to the process of solving our problems.”

The Steve Gill Show airs in national syndication through Radio America on over 40 stations across the country.

If anyone from FreeRepublic vote against a man because he's not a career politician, then they're bogus.

>> I believe that Cain will need an “insider” as Vice President to assist him in the intricacies of legislation. John Thune of South Dakota would fit this prescription. <<

NO Thune! He shouldn't have been renominated for a second term, let alone given a promotion after his back-stabbing.

Nope. COS is too sensitive a position and Newt’s not a team player.
