The Exasperation of the Democratic Billionaire
The Wall Street Journal ^ | OCTOBER 15, 2011 | JAMES FREEMAN

Posted on 10/15/2011 6:54:28 PM PDT by Hunton Peck

Real-estate and newspaper mogul Mortimer Zuckerman voted for Obama but began seeing trouble as soon as the stimulus went into the pockets of municipal unions.

'It's as if he doesn't like people," says real-estate mogul and New York Daily News owner Mortimer Zuckerman of the president of the United States. Barack Obama doesn't seem to care for individuals, elaborates Mr. Zuckerman, though the president enjoys addressing millions of them on television.

The Boston Properties CEO is trying to understand why Mr. Obama has made little effort to build relationships on Capitol Hill or negotiate a bipartisan economic plan. A longtime supporter of the Democratic Party, Mr. Zuckerman wrote in these pages two months ago that the entire business community was "pleading for some kind of adult supervision"

***

Mr. Zuckerman reports that among Democrats, "The sense is that the policies of this government have failed. . . . What they say about [Mr. Obama] when he's not in the room, so to speak, is astonishing."

***

"Even if you want to do this to revive your support in the base, to revive your credibility on the issues of the economy and jobs, which has fallen off the table, this isn't going to accomplish it. Another speech from this guy? The country knows this is just another speech. They understand it almost instantaneously, and his numbers have continued to go down for that reason."

***

"Reagan surprised me," says Mr. Zuckerman. "He got the point of every argument. . . . He was very decisive. And everybody loved working for him. They followed his lead because they really respected his decisiveness and his instincts."

'I was not a Republican and I was not an admirer of his before I knew him," continues Mr. Zuckerman.

I would say Zuckerman still has no clue, seeking "bi-partisanship" instead of something more solid and real. But that's what you'd expect of someone who could actually be surprised by 0bama's failure.

You're right, Mortimer, amazingly. Obama doesn't like people. White people.

Oh, we’ll see it soon enough with Herman Cain. In fact the libs are already bringing out the long knives for him, before he gets “too far”. If Cain becomes POTUS, or even VP you’ll all of a sudden see all of the democrat’s bigotry come to the surface in all its glory. And nary a word will be spoken about it being “racist” to criticize him. It WILL be fun to throw everything back in lib’s faces when they go “full retard” on Cain. You’ll hear libs freely use racial epithets, and LOTS of mocking of Cain’s dialect.

I haven’t seen Zuckerman on TV denouncing his idol. Zuckerman has had his hopey-changey tarnished, but he’ll be there bending over and grabbing his ankles next Nov. like the rest of the Eastern elite.

Mort, Mort, Mort.

You were among the first liberals to figure out that Zero was in the process of destroying the country.

Now, here it is two years later...and you still haven't figured out WHY?

Zuckerman is an asshole liberal who is being mugged by reality and just can't handle the truth.

I agree for the most part. But Zuckerman is an extremely wealthy and successful guy. Why a guy like him who is obviously very shrewd and savvy in business could be fooled by a second rate huckster like Obama is beyond me. Whatever you think of Zuckerman he isn't stupid.

I guess to explain a guy like Zuckerman, I need to go back to the old adage my father use to say to me:

Ideology will trump intelligence any day of the week.

“Obama doesn’t like people. White people.”

While that may be so, I believe that for the greater part, racism is simply a tool for “Obama.” As a malignant narcissist, the only “people” that he likes is “me, myself and I.”

If Obama announced tomorrow “We are hanging all of the Jews”, Zuckerman would be the kind that wonders if the government rope supply will be a closed or open bid.
