Former Alaska governor Palin discussed the latest GOP debate, the candidates and momentum and more on FOX News' "On the Record With Greta Van Susteren."

"I think we (Republicans) are more interested in substance and that's why like tonight Newt Gingrich again I think did the best because he seems to be above a lot of the bickering that goes on," Sarah Palin told FOX News after tonight's CNN debate in Las Vegas.

Everybody could learn from Newt Gingrich and the way his calm, cool, collected manner. He's kind of seen it all before in this political game, if you will," Palin said about Gingrich's debate skills.

I would vote for Newt if he were the nominee. And I would only be holding one nostril closed LOL.

I will NEVER vote for Perry, Romney or Paul.

1790 had founders willing to spend vast sums on Defense when the Secretary of War (not Defense) had a much larger percentage of the Fed dough than DOD has today.

Ron Paul lives more in the Hippy era of 1973.

He'd also be a good President....but everybody around here is too concerned about 'baggage'.

I agree heartily. And he would flatten 0 at debates. And Further, Newt would be a whizbang president, intelligent and cool under fire. But the degree to which he's been demonized, inside and outside the GOP, is indicated by the fact that there still remains a question of whether he could defeat even the great dismantler of the USA, 0bombler.

I thought Newt was really great tonight but Cain held up well too.

Comments like this are why it's good she's not running.

Yes, I've always liked her, but she was coming across as if she's above it all tonight.

Greta had to remind her about the short-answer format after Gov. Palin complained that the candidates weren't elaborating on their positions enough.

I hate to say it, but I think some of the fame has gone to Gov. Palin's head.

"Gingrich/Bolton is my pick."

Bolton was my #1 choice pick for President, back when he was teasing about running. Newt is now my #1 choice. So you nailed my #1 team!

Wouldn’t it be amazing if those same folks could dig up just ONE girl Obama ever dated before marrying Michelle? Just ONE ?? Or maybe just ONE college transcript? Maybe ONE article he wrote for the Harvard Law Review? Is this too much to ask?

Could Obama be an android manufactured abroad in 1961, shipped to Hawaii, and assembled there? Would explain the lack of a documented history,

But much more by the people who frequent sites like this that just can't get over his getting a new wife or sitting on a bench with Nanci Pelosi.

The kids are either too young to remember or to care, so no problem there and I could see a Palin endorsement putting a Seal of Approval large enough to satisfy the social conservative naysayers.

Hey....I'm starting to see a chance here.

Whoever the nominee is they need to study this video. THAT VIDEO IS HOW EVERY ENCOUNTER WITH A MEDIA TALKING HEAD SHOULD GO! Nail them for all their hypocrisy’s when it comes to their shilling for their Democrat boss in the White house.

Perry... still has to turn it around somehow, soon.

He's only been in politics for the last 27 years, and he's only 61 years old. He just needs another half a dozen or so debates to work this debate thing out.

I am not concerned about any baggage Newt might have..they all have some kind of hiccup...but Newt and Cain also, seem to be the only two who actually seem to avoid the snarky remarks back and forth and offer up ideas for consideration rather than just platitudes. I missed the debate but saw some of the contenders on Greta and when she questioned Bachman on the same question she asked Newt, finally, after a long way around, Michele got to the same answer to the question that Newt offered up right off the cuff..get rid of Dodd/_____act to get the housing businesses moving again. We want substance not on lawn guys or petty snarky comments back and forth. I don’t like Romney because I don’t trust that he is just a slick east coast rino.. Newt would run rings around that jerk in the soiled WH.

But Sarah also said at the end that she didn’t think he is going to win the nomination, that means that she isn’t going to endorse anyone including newt in this primary season

I would crawl over broken glass to vote for Newt

I would crawl over broken glass to vote for most of them against 0.

With Mittens I'd probably have to go back to put on some thick soled hiking boots, though.

"Palin: Newt Won Vegas Face-Off, Would "Clobber" Obama In A Debate"

In 2008, Obama didn't have to win a debate. All he had to do was spout his puerile nonsense and not urinate on himself or go into convulsions. Things are clearly not the same now, but winning a debate with Obama doesn't mean saying smarter things or making more sense. Many 5th graders can do that. Winning a debate with Obama means putting him on the defensive and forcing him off his script where he'll stutter and stammer and not be able to put together a coherent sentence. Winning a debate with Obama means making him lose.

Clearly, the debates will be structured to avoid this very thing.

Well said. I think I am a good example of a Newt convert. Never thought he would be my first choice, but it is clear to me that he is the smartest adult in the room. Heck, he’s the only adult.

Not quite a convert yet, but would have no problem voting for Newt in the general or supporting Cain/Gingrich or Gingrich/Cain ticket.

There`s a simple, perfectly reasonable answer to why you`ve seen no pictures of Obama girlfriends:

On his planet, the girls have penises.
