Reflecting national trends, businessman Herman Cain has now jumped to the front of the Republican pack in Iowa.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Iowa caucus-goers shows that Cain is in front with 28% followed by former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney at 21%. Congressman Ron Paul is a distant third at 10% followed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 9%, Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann at 8%, and Texas Governor Rick Perry at 7%. The sixth place finish for Perry is a sharp decline from early September when Perry was the frontrunner both nationally and in Iowa.
But that can’t be. We’ve been told his numbers are slipping! We were told that Perry redeemed himself and had a strong showing during Tuesday nights cat fight.
How was Huckabee doing in national polls for that time period?
Only one-third of the caucus-goers (32%) are certain of their vote and dont expect to change their mind. Among these voters, 30% prefer Cain, 22% Romney, and 17% Paul.
Among those absolutely certain they will show up and participate in the caucus, Cain leads Romney 31% to 18%.

These numbers are great!
If the Perrybots continue their strategy of screaming "bigot!" "hater!!" and "purist!!!" at anyone who question's Perry's record and abilities, they'll soon end up in a "two-way race" with Huntsman. ;-)
Secondly, I don’t think Cain’s position is what you think it is when he says quite clearly that life begins at conception.

Perhaps if you had bothered to actually listen to the interview live you would have heard him qualify his opposition to abortion by saying the decision on whether to have an abortion comes down to a choice by a woman and her family.
His actual words.
How's that comeback workin' for you La Raza Rick?
The problem with Perry is also he teamed up with an amoral drug company to try to force Gardisil on the states young women. Sick.
Perry strutted on-stage, slapped down "heartless" conservatives....and it's been nothing but bad news for him 24/7.
How very gratifying that Perry was hoisted on his own petard----he got on all fours, all puckered up, and sucked up to Mexico, La Raza and illegals........stupidly thinking he could force Americans into this posture.
Perry's condemnation of 71% of Americans who want something done about illegals proved to be his downfall.
Perry vs Huntsman——perfect together. LOL.
I really don't give a crap where "they or you would rather live". If they are here AS ILLEGAL ALIENS my position is get them out and it is a matter of political will.
Too many "I'm not a bleeding heart, mean as a snake" people, take the same, liberal bleeding heart position as you just did.
With President's like obummer, GWB {while strong on defense} was as big a tex-mex pussy as are perry and you.
Living in a border state, you become used to the ILLEGALS and make excuses for your soft spot because they are close to you.
You are part of the problem but you want to blame it on anyone else, because it's too hard to admit that overlooking little things for the past 40 years lead us into this mess.
This didn't happen overnight, it was when your parents generation knew that Pablo was here ILLEGALLY, but was such a good guy that they gave him a job.
Then Pablo brought his wife and kids, and they needed to go to school or the doctors and on and on and on....
What he is saying is that as President he can’t force his beliefs onto the rest of the citizens of this country. If the Presidency allowed for waving a wand and abolishing abortion, I think Reagan would have done that. Its going to take the Supremes to overturn Roe v Wade.
If you want a Presidency that can FORCE their beliefs onto the citizens, then stop whining about Barak/Michelle Obama.
His actual words.
I'll just say this as succinctly as possible. LIAR!
I should have pinged you to #111
They’ve done away with tv, radio and newspapers as well and have gone green, relying on the pony express.
I think you mean these birds :

(Need to replace 'Palinista Attackus' with 'Cainista ThreeNineus' )
I'd rather live in Buckingham Palace, but what would happen if I snuck in there and started living there?
You really are mean as a snake, aren’t you?
Pussy?
Pablo?
Look at the guidelines == no personal attacks, no racisism or violence.
Gardisal again?
You’re really out of weapons, aren’t you people?
I see the same things posted again and again, explained again and again, refuted again and again.
But I guess that’s all you got.
Have a nice day.
I have an inkling Cain is Peroting Perry for Mittens. If it’s true, Herman is deluded that Mittens will give him the Veep slot. I have yet to see that Mormon hug any Amish...
Woohoo! Tell us what you really think!
Cain/USS Alaska 2012
LOL
Why would the clear front runner want to be VP for a far trailing loser? Doesn't make any sense.
He probably will, and in doing so will be touted by Fox and the MSM as having 'vanquished' Cain -- which is just wrong, but becoming rather clearly part of the overall plan.
There are undeniable factums going by under the radar every day -- the populace blinded by the dopey snipe hunt / Beltway kabuki / fugly pageant that is the GOP primary run-up thus far -- that confirm this. The Masters of the Universe don't pay to lose, they pay to play. The fix is in:
"Obama has hauled in $3.9 million from the finance, insurance and real estate sector so far this year, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. But hes been outpaced by GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who has received $7.5 million from the sector.Goldman Sachs employees who contributed more than $1 million to Obama in the 2008 election cycle are now spending more on Romney than Obama, according to CRP. Goldman Sachs employees, along with their spouses, have contributed $352,200 to Romney."
. Congressman Ron Paul is a distant third at 10% followed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 9%, Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann at 8%, and Texas Governor Rick Perry at 7%.
How many of these will go to Cain vs Romney?
Cain and Newt have commented on their likes for one another. I think Cain would benefit from Newt. I also think Cain would benefit from Bachmann.
If Bachman and Newt are out, where do Perry's votes go? I don't see them going to Romney, do you? Yeah, me either. So, I think Cain will benefit from Perry. So, that leaves Paul. That's a mixed bag, but since Cain at least wants to do something about taxes, Cain might benefit from Paul at least to a degree. You left out Santorum, and while not much, I think Cain benefits from Santorum. Romney probably benefits from Huntsman, fortunately, that would be minuscule. jmo
He really did not burn as fast as he should have. But the RINO-led, Demrat Party-controlled GOP and the Marxist propaganda organ’s shilling for him made him seem bigger than he ever was.
Bump to a good, timely post.
Yesterday in an interview with Piers Morgan on CNN, I was asked questions about abortion policy and the role of the President.
I understood the thrust of the question to ask whether that I, as president, would simply order people to not seek an abortion.
My answer was focused on the role of the President. The President has no constitutional authority to order any such action by anyone. That was the point I was trying to convey.
As to my political policy view on abortion, I am 100% pro-life. End of story.
I will appoint judges who understand the original intent of the Constitution. Judges who are committed to the rule of law know that the Constitution contains no right to take the life of unborn children.
I will oppose government funding of abortion. I will veto any legislation that contains funds for Planned Parenthood. I will do everything that a President can do, consistent with his constitutional role, to advance the culture of life."
Four tickets out of Iowa, two out of New Hampshire!
>> “relying on the pony express.” <<
.
I guess they’re still waiting for the results of the Lincolin/Douglas debates?
Due to the shifting racial balance in this country, and the fact that those increasing groups are the true racists, a Cain/Rubio ticket could theoretically capture the White House for 16 years.
Just in theory, not saying it’s going to happen.
.
Just not honestly.
Nothing about the Gardasil EO fiasco has in any way been ‘refuted’ except the alleged ‘explanation.’
In addition, the FDA has just released info on 65 more deaths from the vaccine, most of which involved massive neurological damage, and repetitive seizures.
This is a movement to sexualize our teenage daughters and profit a greedy drug company, using its connections to sleezy government leadership. Is there any way to boycott Merk?
No, but they will get the results of the Iowa caucus 3 weeks later! lol (I was agreeing with you)
That is ridiculous. so now you’re citing bogus statistics and FDA stuff. please.
No child in Texas was given gardisal. Rick Perry thought it was a good idea but always gave parents an opt out.
It is still being promoted by the medical community as a safe and effective vaccine for girls.
Other states are considering it. The lie that it has caused neurological damage has been refuted.
Anyway, it didn’t happen. So, apparently that IS all you got.
” Amazing how Perry jumped to the top without saying a word then started talking and crashed and burned fast.”
Looking forward to the day Perry drops out.
Can’t happen soon enough, bet he drags it out though
But But But Perry supporters told me that he was rebounding....roll eyes. Thank God Cain is winning!!!!!!
GO CAIN GO!
Shut up you old bag. Really Perry is 7 percent. It IS over for him.
Alaska,
Poor Perry supporters can dish it but can’t take it.....so weak. Thank God their worthless liberal Perry fraud is sinking so fast. He would be a dismal President. Buck up altura.....weak weak weak.
Bob
So, apparently that IS all you got.
Only the tip of the iceberg there altura. That is why liberal Perry is falling on his face. Perry is so incompetent. Only the liberal could have 40 percent in the polls and the minute he opened his mouth lost 37 percent of his support........HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I have never been happier.
I know it is a foreign concept to some of you but I want us to choose the strongest candidate possible to take on Obama. It doesn't have to be Perry, even though I like his record.
Now, would you like to be a gentleman/lady and apologize?
Are you serious? You are bashing Cain by using liberal sources and you think you are above the fray? Are you really serious?
Again, I am not afraid of the truth be it about any of our candidates. We need to make a wise choice.
The PPP is not reliable for polling. it is a liberal group.
