“I agree we cannot afford another apprentice, and that is one of many reason I will be voting for Newt”

Not thinking your or anyone else will get the opportunity to vote for anyone but Mitt Romney. The RNC called me this morning for a donation directed at educating the public on Obama. I told the spokesperson that when I hear the candidates discuss the real issues in this country then I will be ready to send some money. I was told that they are waiting to address these issues after the candidate has been selected. I said, you mean after the media is finished shoving Mitt Romney down our throats, just like they did John McCain. I further said, Newt Gingrich is the only expericened, ready to lead candidate on the stage and then she said, “it is an electibility issue with Newt.” So basically what they want to do is tell us who the pretty, popular guy running for President of the Studend Council is and forget the nerds who really know their stuff. No thanks anymore.

What I’d like to knos is how a man that informed and that intelligent could ever give an interview like this one:

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/hotpolitics/interviews/gingrich.html

He endorses cap-and-tax twice - now he recanted, but if he was this wrong on this issue before, then he could be that wrong again.

That issue is easily addressed.
Sit Newt down with “the smart guys” and explain how the science really works.
That should make it clear that the AGW “solutions” are an economic disaster.
Eagerness to “bridge the divide” can’t be based on BS “science”.
Compromise can only be effective if it’s based on reality.
Newt is teachable...at least on this subject.

Gingrich is a fantastic debater, a politician experienced in Washington’s ways, articulate, smart and has a great platform. I’d jump on board the Newt Wagon if I thought the man had any type of moral core. He was not a greatly effective Speaker of the House, he quit immediately after winning reelection which shows me he forgot how he got there and what his job was. He is a globalist as shown by his championing of NAFTA, WTO and membership in CFR. In short, I don’t trust the new Newt any more than I trust the new Mitt.

I’m talking about the cheating thing - it was years ago but if I remember correctly he was also cheating on his wife at the same time Bill & Monica were doing their thing. I think Democrats will use that to try to drive a wedge between Republicans who don’t care and those who really do care about it.

The global warming thing doesn’t bother me - everyone makes mistakes and I bought it at first too. We are taught to trust our scientists, not to think of them as lying bastards fighting for the most grant money.

From wiki (of course I don’t know where your information came from)

In 2011, their daughter, Jackie Gingrich Cushman, said that it was her mother who requested the divorce, that it happened prior to the hospital stay (which was for the removal of a benign tumor, not cancer), and that Gingrich’s visit was for the purpose of bringing the couple’s children to see their mother, not to discuss the divorce.

Newt was married far too young (at 19 to his 26 year-old teacher) Mary leTourneau anyone???? Not surprising he had issues with relationships.

Powerful stuff.

I wish he had a chance of winning the nomination—he’d wipe the floor up with Zero in a debate.

It might be of interest to watch the following short video, especially begiiining at the end of the first minute and through to the end of the six short minutes. I don't believe any of the other persons running currently for nomination to run for presdient in either party could do what Newt did speaking just extemporaneously in this video ... the man is brilliant, and as an active Historian he is always up on current affairs. Now that he is willing to learn on fronts like the hoax of global warming, he is the best of the lot:

bimbo,

Jackie Gingrich Cushman wrote a column in May of this year called “Setting the Record Straight” where she dealt with the myth of Newt Gingrich serving his wife divorce papers while she was in the hospital with terminal cancer.

Here is the link:

http://townhall.com/columnists/jackiegingrichcushman/2011/05/08/setting_the_record_straight/page/full/

here are a few excerpts from her column:

-— “For years, I have thought about trying to correct the untrue accounts of this hospital visit… But I have always hesitated, as it was a private family matter and my mother is a very private person.”

-— “As for my parents’ divorce, I can remember when they told me.

It was the spring of 1980. My parents told my sister and me that they were getting a divorce as our family of four sat around the kitchen table of our ranch home.”

-— “Later that summer, Mom went to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta for surgery to remove a tumor. While she was there, Dad took my sister and me to see her.
It is this visit that has turned into the infamous hospital visit about which many untruths have been told… here’s what happened:

My mother and father were already in the process of getting a divorce, which she requested.

Dad took my sister and me to the hospital to see our mother.
She had undergone surgery the day before to remove a tumor.
The tumor was benign.

-— As have many families, we have healed; we have moved on.
My mother and father are alive and well, and my sister and I are blessed to have a close relationship with them both.”

*****

This is just one of the many fabrications the media and Newt’s enemies have circulated over the years. I can’t imagine how many others there are. If you read the article, it was obviously difficult for Jackie to talk about this, but she did, because at some point you have take on the liars. If the Gingrich family has moved on from this event so many years ago, as Jackie states, maybe it’s time for everybody else to move on, also.

Also, he pursued Clinton’s impeachment because of perjury, not sexual misbehavior.

You seem to have a lot of very detailed information on Newt’s private life, could you site your sources? You were wrong about the hospital visit... are you wrong about anything else?

...while Tiffany's was extending Callista Gingrich an interest free loan for hundreds of thousands of dollars, the diamond firm was spending a lot of money to influence mining policy in agencies under the jurisdiction of the House Agriculture Committee, where Mrs. Gingrich worked until 2007.

BTW, I **like** Newt, but he has too much baggage to lead the ticket. He'd be an excellent secretary of state imnsho.

I have no question about Newt’s intelligence or ability. I don’t have a problem voting for him. I just think he will have a hard time on the electibility issue. He needs a very big endorsement, like Sarah. Newt is quite obviously universally more qualified than Obama.

Wow could any thinking person, much less a conservative even LISTEN to Newt?

Lets see - after his seemingly great idea with that “Contract With America” a couple of decades back, he has jumped on the bandwagon of global warming, has behaved about as immorally as any politician (affair while claiming moral superiority), he’s a lover of big-government, is limp-wristed on the homosexual issue, supported Bush’s bailouts, and is pro-abortion...

Again I ask - WHY is he even pretending to be a conservative? Or better - why do any conservatives BELIEVE him? Because the press says so?
