Dictator begs for his life after being dragged from a drain

Wounded, weakened and covered in blood and dirt, the fallen dictator was dragged from a truck to meet his unceremonious end. In front of a baying mob, Muammar Gaddafi, the former Libyan leader, begged the revolutionary soldiers for his life. Becoming increasingly desperate, he asked one rebel fighter: 'What did I ever do to you?' But his pleas fell on deaf ears. The deposed despot was mercilessly shot to death, his spilt blood heralding the end of a terrible 42-year epoch in Libyan history.

I am old school and believe in slaughtering the enemy without mercy until they are begging you to surrender.

If we had dropped a daisy cutter and/or a couple of MOAB’s on Falujah 10 years ago, the war would of been over instantly, and thousands of American soldiers wouldn't be dead, and our treasury wouldn't be empty.

Life isn't a super hero comic, our actions or lack of action has consequences.

Yes, the revisionism is transparent.

They’re saying that, though he may have been captured, he died of wounds from prior to the capture.

I don’t know, that kinda looks like a hole in the head to me. He was executed.

Americans also didn’t suffer under him for 40 years, watching friends and family members disappear, afraid to speak their minds for fear of their very lives.

He died the way many of his victims probably did, on his knees pleading for his life. Good. He deserved worse.

LOL...revisionist history starting already. How can a fighter jet stop a convoy of trucks mounted with machine guns this way? From the pictures, it is obvious the French jets and probably predator drones took out the convoy and the Libyans mopped up. Madman MoMo would never stop his trucks and go running off on foot to escape, that is idiocy.

Bingo. And in the purported videos of Gaddafi being dragged out of the truck, he literally looks like he's already been blown to hell before they shoot him - which, apparently, he was.

Arab seasonal change. It's like global warming.

Something tells me Obama is feeling like a little school girl feeling a new tingle.......

What's with the dailymail.co.uk? Their pictures seem to revel in bloody death the way these dictators and Muslim extremists do.

They are reporting the news. That is what happened. Where are the pics and video of him being shot? Is that reality too much for the sheeple of the world?

It is a disgrace. The fact that the US is involved in any way, shape or form with these awful animals and their despicable affairs - shame on us.

Yes, our media cheerleads what they believe is a foreign policy for their chosen Demi god - now. What will they say when it’s their turn?

Won’t be so lovely then, will it?

Unseemly an most definitely un Christian.

Can't say I disagree. The issue is whether we pursue a hearts-and-minds counter insurgency strategy or a punitive counter-terrorism strategy. Like you, I'm more in the punitive camp...flatten them and then get out...let the UN, NGOs, aid organizations pick up the pieces. Wasn't the strategy chosen for either AOR, so gotta back the mission and our troops until we get them home.

No good guys in this mess, ...yep, only bad ones and worse ones.

I'm not losing any sleep over his death. Only negative thing that I can take out of it is that he was scared to death of America (Reagan took care of that in '86, Bush reinforced it around '04).

Having enemies that are terrified of us is a good thing, IMHO. A new regime was unavoidable, but I doubt that they'll have that same fear. (I also doubt that they'll be all too friendly....)

"This is a prime example of why the USA is superior to every other country on planet Earth, especially those populated with SandMonkeys who live by the dictates of a 7th Century death cult."

Really? We did this and Obama will be bringing street violence and alleged street justice to the US in the run up to the 2012 election. The OWS movement is being spread by the Obama machine and the fires are being stoked for widespread violence to be exploited to try and bring about a second Obama term.

He is Soooooo clueless

No he is not - this is his way! He'd rather you believe he is clueless than to know what he is all about.

Did they declare war on us or another country?

Pretty gawd-damned close.
He blew one of our passenger planes, with several hundred people on board, out of the sky over Scotland.

Whoa! I'm making a distinction about the superiority of Americans, particularly those in our armed forces and the overwhelming majority of decent, hard-working, God-fearing men & women in this country, to the lawless SandMonkeys in the Middle East and Africa. Zero and his OWS dirtbag allies are a different case. Apples and oranges.

"Wither the protestors now?
At least with Bush, Saddam was captured and brought to justice by a court of his peers, not so with Obama and his minions this time.
Obama wants to wear it on his sleeve but it’s a bloody thing with little honor to it.

Personally, I prefer the Obama approach.
Let the Mulslims get rid of their own dictators with our air support, but without our boots on the ground.
I don't see that either has more or less honor or is more or less bloody.
At least Libya didn't cost us $500 Billion and tens of thousands of American casualties.
This is a good template to follow in the future.

At least in Iraq, with Bush's approach, Iraq has a fighting chance to be a stable country, albeit not perfect by any stretch, but it sure beats what would have happened had Saddam been overthrown without US boots on the ground.

Libya is headed for anarchy, and most likely Civil War.

I can tell you this, they didn’t kill him because of Lockerbie.

I'm sure you're right, but I do find it interesting that they put a round in his stomach (which is where WPC Yvonne Fletcher was shot) and let him writhe around a while before the old double tap to the head.
