Businessman Herman Cain is now atop the field of Republican White House hopefuls, squeaking past former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in the latest CBS News/New York Times poll.

Cain garnered 25 percent support of Republican primary voters in the poll released Tuesday, compared to Romney's 21 percent.

In early October, the two men were tied at 17 percent.

IMHO...Cain is nothing but a spoiler....similar to Palin. The difference is...he declared. Is his following real?? Not sure because a HIGH majority of Repub voters are still not committed. That makes the poll...a $3 bill.

Does nobody (in the elite GOP) see that Romney made a HUGE gaffe last week with “I’m running for office for Pete’s Sake, I can’t have illegals!”

Yes, I hate these types of polls. However, when Perry was doing well in these types of polls, people held them up like gospel. I would like to see the breakdown of how likely Republican voters voted in this poll...I wager this was high for Cain. Also, I’d normally not read too much into this type of poll, except that it jives with all the other ones out. Cain is a certified front runner.

Target identification by the left.

They really, and rightly, fear this man.

Great news, I think most of Palin's supporters out there have moved to supporting Cain, and it is now his to win or lose.

His debate with Newt is going to be a major hurdle for him to cross, if he comes out of that one well, I think he wins this thing.

Now if only Perry would drop out.........

“It won’t stop C.B.S., A.P., Reuters, MSNBC and others from referring to Romney as the “front runner”. “

And even Fox.

I keep thinking, they can’t be stupid enough to believe what they just said.

They must think I’m stupid enough to believe it.

You’ve got it backwards, Perry is the spoiler. He is the only one that could prevent conservatives from beating Romney (with a Cain).

This can’t be right, Karl Rove and Charles Krauthammer said last night Cain peaked and his poll numbers were falling, citing last week’s outlier AP poll showing Romney up 4.

But Perry has so much money he can stay in the race as long as he pleases.

Hopefully he'll spend his treasure taking down Weird Willy. Willard is a big AH with unbridled ambition, willing to do or say anything in his quest to become a Mormon god. We are better off with 4 more years of the sock puppet than that prick.

your right, that particular poll from last week now looks like an outlier, since Romney polls in the low 20’s in nearly every other recent poll including this one.

This is a poll asking mostly non-Republicans who should win the Republican nomination.

Do you have anything to back that up? Or is this just you making stuff up?

From the article, “Cain garnered 25 percent support of Republican primary voters in the poll released Tuesday, compared to Romney's 21 percent

#2 Romneycare

Even though Herman’s been taking a lot of hits in the last week or so, he stays on top and keeps advancing. Looking stronger and stronger.

SINKING INTO OBLIVION Perry had just 7 percent compared to 12 percent in early October and a staggering 30 percent in mid-September.

Looks like his outdated "energy plan" and rewarmed flat tax aren't helping La Raza Rick.
