BREAKING: CDC Backs HPV Vaccine for Boys
FoxNews ^

Posted on 10/25/2011 12:58:48 PM PDT by Scythian

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory panel recommended Tuesday routine vaccination of boys ages 11 and 12 with Gardasil, which protects against infection from human papilloma virus. The panel unanimously approved the plan, with 13 votes in favor and one abstention.

The panel also advised that vaccinations with Gardasil begin in boys as young as 9 years old.

The recommendation, from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, elevates the urgency placed on immunization against HPV, one of the most common sexually-transmitted diseases and a major cause of cervical cancer. Previously, doctors were free to use the vaccine in boys, but the panel had stopped short of proposing routine vaccination.

This tells me the pharmaceutical company that manufactures the vaccine is a (rich and) powerful lobby.

If our Liberty is NOT ABUSED by demanding, under law, that all boys be vaccinated for HPPV, then how is it that Liberty IS ABUSED if it be demanded, by law, that all single men abstain from sexual intercourse before marriage? Why is one a horrible intrusion on our Liberty, and the other not? Both have at their source the intent to foster “public health” and to defend the benefit to us all that that is.

Any takers?

Don’t bore these dolts with facts, it will only confuse.

Most are too anti-Perry to except facts.

I’ve thought, since I bothered to understand the issue, that if these people were serious it certainly SHOULD include boys. Boys are carriers, I don’t see how you can cure a disease by only inoculating 1/2 of the carriers.

When your little girl grows up and marries some young man who may have been sexually active and gives her HPV. Then she developes cervical Cancer. You be sure to tell her that you were against the vacine that could have prevented the Cancer.

But hey it SOUNDS good as a Perry attack point.

And I bet ANY Doctor that provides HPV vacines is in the pocket of Merck AND a Perry supporter RIGHT.

Since the shots cost $360 maybe you could join the protest in NYC saying big pharma wants young women to get Cervical Cancer.

Merck must have really spread some money around the CDC.

What's wrong with a little crony capitalism? NBC's Nightly News had a story about the first link on Monday.

Troubles With Heart Are Linked to HPV

Erin Allday from the San Francisco Chronicle wrote:

"But boys tend to be the source of HPV infections in girls, so federal public health authorities hope that by vaccinating them, too, that girls will get additional protection from the STD.

"'There's been a disappointing uptake in teenage girls,' said Dr. Anne Schuchat, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, in a media teleconference this morning. 'In addition to a direct benefit for boys, there's also the potential that vaccinating boys will reduce the spread of HPV from males to females.'"

I sense a bias against heterosexual boys, IMHO.

There's at least one former grunt who wished he had Gardasil before he went to Vietnam.

I just made this comment on the other thread about this:

The reality is that only homosexuals get anal warts or whatever this drug is supposed to protect from. The assumption with this vaccine is that a huge number of these boys and girls are going to be hedonist little vermin having sex with anything that walks, crawls or breathes. The reality is that abstinence works - every time it’s tried! Really! Humans are not beasts of the field that must rut on some other beast whenever the thought crosses their minds! Add to this that there have been a lot of stories of very bad reactions to girls that had this vaccine. When my kids were small, there were vaccines against polio and DPT, I think that was about it. Now there’s 20 odd diseases. I survived mumps and measles just fine. And who knows how some of the crap in these vaccines affects some kids. Now they want to give kids a vax for a disease they can ONLY GET if they act like sluts or marry someone who acted like a slut.

I’ve got an idea - teach the kids about all the horrible diseases they can get acting likes sluts with graphic photos and descriptions. Real “sex ed”!

My wife contacted HPV when she was 22 years old, just after college, and had to have the cancerous cells removed from the tip of her cervix by a freezing technique. And, yes, we didn’t meet until she was 26 so she didn’t get it from me!! (Sorry, folks, but most guys aren’t marrying virgins these days). If the guy who gave it to her (probably a college boyfriend) had this shot, she wouldn’t have gotten it (I’m sure neither of them knew he carried HPV).

The boys carry the HPV virus and give it to the girls, the boys just don’t have the symptoms, since they don’t have a cervix.

Although I agree with your points in theory.

We have at least 2 generations that have been brainwashed by the “hedonist”. NBC news just did a sement on the book our bodies ourselves. the 70’s tome to women and promiscuious sex. apparently it’s still a best seller.

Do parents still have the neccesary influence on their children to stop dangerous behavours. (yes unprotected, promiscuous, sexual activity is dangerous)

It’s the old if it feels good do it mantra of the 60’s.
I had a conversation with a Doc about the 60’s being the beginning of the loss of innocence for America. society began an unabated decline. Can we save it? It is going to take generations....if we can get the boat turned around.

wow, that certainly was eye opening.

I suppose I should print this out, make an appointment for my daughter, and take all that info with me.

None of my kids will ever get this crap in their system, and I hope my oldest doesn’t suffer any further trouble.

One, there are dangers from this vaccine.

Two, if people want to have the vaccine when they are adults, they can make their own decisions at that time. Children are exposed to more than enough vaccines as it is.

And if kids at the right ages were told the truth about STDs, without the hedonist lies, they might make better choices.

Not every hedonist act can be made risk free through modern medicine.

It never was about the science, it was about using the identity politics making it a “women’s issue” to stifle dissent the first time around. And Texas wasn’t the only state that went for this so the Perry barbs are ill served.

One of its ingredients: amorphous aluminum hydroxyphosphate

From page 11 of the Merck Gardisil Package Insert (and remember, these are not merely things that “could happen.” They are things that “already happened.” Notice that on this list, there are no less than eight conditions that are potentially fatal):

6.2 Postmarketing Experience
The following adverse events have been spontaneously reported during post-approval use of GARDASIL. Because these events were reported voluntarily from a population of uncertain size, it is not possible to reliably estimate their frequency or to establish a causal relationship to vaccine exposure.

Blood and lymphatic system disorders: Autoimmune hemolytic anemia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, lymphadenopathy.

Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: Pulmonary embolus.

Gastrointestinal disorders: Nausea, pancreatitis, vomiting.

General disorders and administration site conditions: Asthenia, chills, death, fatigue, malaise.

Immune system disorders: Autoimmune diseases, hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylactic/ anaphylactoid reactions, bronchospasm, and urticaria.

Musculoskeletal and connective tissue disorders: Arthralgia, myalgia.

Nervous system disorders: Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, dizziness, Guillain-Barré
syndrome, headache, motor neuron disease, paralysis, seizures, syncope (including syncope associated with tonic-clonic movements and other seizure-like activity) sometimes resulting in falling with injury, transverse myelitis.

Infections and infestations: cellulitis.

Vascular disorders: Deep venous thrombosis.

last year the scare was the men developed testicular cancer and throat cancer from HPV.

If it is going to mandated, at the very least it’s foolish to ignore the boys who at the very least would be spreading it to girls, some of whom may not be vaccinated.
