What people don’t understand is that many of us had vaccines against communicable disease administered by moral humans for the reasons of keeping humans from catching disease.

What we have now are immoral people crawling into bed wih drug companies for ideology reasons, political reasons, or financial gain. ...

You posted an excellent point. Many are still unaware of the level of moral decline and rapacious greed in all aspects of our society. Cultural Marxism has spread its tentacles far and wide. We live in an era of crony capitalism / corporatism / fascism, a prelude to world government by unelected bureaucrats. It amazes me how many don't or won't see it.

I worry about people who still think the FDA is there to protect “the People”. I worry about it when people let down their guard and think the government is always operating in their best interest.

The levers of power in the US has never been more corrupt an unaccountable as they are now.

Built into these vaccine mandates for Gardasil is protection for Merck from being sued. Hell of a deal for them. A giant “can’t lose and make tons of money”.

Can’t people see that is the reason they were going around to State Governors trying to get this drug mandated?

Oh brother. I was really done arguing this point, but since you insist.

HPV and the flu are known to mutate at a more frequent rate and there are more strains of them. Apparently mumps, measles and small pox are easier to nail down. Some bugs are smarter than others.

For your information, all 3 of my daughter’s vaccinations are up to date. I don’t plan on allowing them to get the Gardisil vaccine. I like to give my kids the benefit of the doubt rather than writing them off as being loose as ashes and dating scummy boyfriends. I like how the medical profession portrays HPV. You have sex once, gasp you will get HPV. Yes, that’s possible, but unlikely. And like I have already said, Gardisil does not prevent all of the HPV strains out there. Not all of the strains of HPV even cause cancer.

So here is the equation(again): HPV can cause cancer SOMETIMES, and the HPV vaccine can protect against it SOMETIMES. This is a proven fact. So, why do you feel that this vaccine should be forced on young girls and now boys? And please, spare me the rotting penis stories. Is Merck going to start using that as it’s tag line for Gardisil? “Get the vaccine, or your penis will get cancer and fall off!”. Or they can tell young girls “Get the vaccine,or your cervix will rot!”.

Bottom line, this vaccine will not get you the same results as the other vaccines that you mentioned. This vaccine has a lot more side effects. So what is the point. Really I’m done with this! You have your view point, I have mine. Period!

First, I do NOT support this vaccination for Girls OR Boys. But, the comments made by the two of you expose your woeful lack of information on the HPV virus itself.

I suggest you read up on rates of infection, symptoms, etc...

In the vast majority of HPV infections there are NO SYMPTOMS, and the body usually takes care of the infection before warts even have a chance to appear. However, for certain strains, and in some people who have lowered immune response it can lead to devastating symptoms - no warts, but indeed, cancer... Again, I am NOT advocating for these vaccinations - AT ALL. But, it would be of benefit if the two of you learned more about a viral infection that really IS an epidemic, and can cause devastating consequences to those who become infected. In most cases the virus comes and goes without people ever knowing they had it. It's the cases that stick around that end up causing various types of cancer (not just cervical).

BTW, have either of you EVER had a wart of any kind anywhere on your body? If you have then you have had HPV...

More information can be found here:
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hpv-infection/DS00906/DSECTION=symptoms

Excerpt: In most cases, your body's immune system defeats an HPV infection before it has a chance to create any warts. When warts do appear, they may vary in appearance depending on which variety of HPV is involved

I didn’t know that, but that one estrogen mimic pales in comparison to the vast number of both xeno and phyto estrogens we are exposed to on a daily basis. Plastics are full of them. Also: soy, hops (in beer), lavender, pesticides, herbicides, much of our milk and meat are full of artificial hormones that cows are injected with, etc. etc.

Whether these people are Anti-Perry or not the information is of benefit to every other person reading this thread - poster or lurker.

As a cervical cancer survivor I thank you CholeraJoe for your attempts to spread much needed information. I don’t advocate these vaccinations, but word definitely needs to get out because there is such a high rate of infection...

I wonder if people realize that HPV is NOT just an STD... Even if the genital strains are the ones that cause the most devastating complications, chances are almost everyone on this thread posting AND lurking has had HPV at one time or another in their lives...

I responded personally to something you stated in your post on this thread regarding only homosexuals getting the type of HPV this vaccine protects against, and your belief that only people who act “like sluts” or marries someone who “acted like a slut” could contract this disease.

I apologize for calling you a bad name, and basically “yelling” at you. I have asked the mods to remove my post.

Please take some time to educate yourself further on what HPV actually is (it’s not JUST an STD). Also, please take into consideration that there are many people who have contracted this disease who are NOT “sluts”, and to claim otherwise is rude and hurtful to others.

I say this as a personal survivor of cervical cancer caused by HPV when I was 19 years old. It’s frankly none of your business HOW I was exposed, but I’ll tell you anyway - I was date raped. Keep that in mind please the next time you post in regards to this subject.

PS - I’m NOT an advocate for this vaccination. It’s too early to risk it on my children, IMO. Just so you know that the vaccination has nothing to do with my above comments.

Here is a link to get you started in regards to educating yourself on HPV, you may find some of the information from the Mayo Clinic extremely surprising. I myself found some of it extremely enlightening and this is a disease I had myself...

You and I may not agree on everything in regards to this vaccine, but I would be remiss if I didn’t thank you for your efforts to spread information and awareness about this horrible virus.

I’m a 20-year HPV-caused Cervical Cancer Survivor, and I’m grateful to you and others for raising awareness of this disease. There is an awful lot of ignorance out there in regards to these issues, and in some cases that can compound the pain to those who have gone through this, or even lost someone dear to them.

Thanks again for your work and advocacy in regards to HPV in general.

...HPV, ... a major cause of cervical cancer.

Little boys (or big boys, sans Bawney Fwank) don't have cervix's.

To be sure, there are a lot of those around. However, injected >>> more effective than ingested. Injected is the best delivery method available. It’s brand new in terms of evolution. Never before seen from a bodily avoidance perspective. Not every molecule of estrogen mimic you ingest will be absorbed. Every *single* molecule that’s injected will be absorbed. Injected birth control (depo provera) is much longer lasting and more effective than ingested birth control pills. Some women have never returned to fertility after a depo shot.

Let me also add that recent studies have shown that exposure to endocrine disruptors at specific and sensitive development points in males (in utero when their genitals are developing, and at puberty) have a much more amplified and long term effect. One study showed effects out to f2 offspring. That’s grandkids, btw. The f2 offspring were much much much less fertile than their forbears. And that’s without further exposure to endocrine disruptors.

There *are* no long term published studies with regard to fertility and vaccinations. They are the only FDA approved class of drug I’m aware of in this regard.

Correct, little boys don’t have a cervix. But little boys give HPV to little girls.

My wife was diagnosed with HPV when she was 23 years old, and had the cells removed by freezing the tip of her cervix. We didn’t meet until she was 26 so she didn’t get it from me. But if the guy she got it from (probably a graduate school boyfriend) would have had the shot, she wouldn’t have gotten HPV. Neither she nor the boyfriend, I’m sure, knew he had HPV. And, yes, most of us guys aren’t marrying virgins these days!!

Liberty Rocks, thank you for bringing my attention to the topic and will amend my comments to include those who become infected with the HPV virus through no choice of their own. I’m sorry you had to undergo such suffering. I hope that you have fully recovered from it all and suffer no long term problems at all.

I think as a culture we need to re-think (or rather, many individuals in our culture, culture is not a giant Entity) dating and courtship. Used to be, girls and boys didn’t put themselves into situations where date rape could occur. Social standards were such that a couple practically had to be engaged before being alone together is circumstances where such could occur. Chaperones and group association were common, as well as matchmakers or other such traditions, as well as a higher standard of morality, kept pre-marital sex much lower than it is today.

The above is no attack on you, just an observation about the degradation of culture and how it puts young men and women in hot water without their really desiring it at all, the flow of life almost demands their participation with attendant dangers at every step.

I speak from experience, having jumped into the flow (of sewage) with both feet, many years ago, and suffered the consequences.

If the general morality of the populace was much higher - the way it was a few generations ago - we would not be in the sorry fix we are in today (as a culture) not only in regard to the spread of this disease, but many others; including the out of wedlock births and all the other things we both know about.

Funny how you ‘doctors’ and ‘researchers’ all quote CDC numbers until they don’t fit your agenda. Then you start with the “there’s no evidence”.

What "agenda" are you talking about? If I have an "agenda", it is to protect human health. That's the reason I went into research. And I really don't know what you mean by that statement about quoting CDC numbers until they "don't fit [my] agenda." As a researcher, I refer to countless different sources; if the CDC happens to be the source for a piece of information I need, I use it.

There are plenty of cases where children have not received a shot and developed the same problems. Establishing a cause-and-effect relationship is a lot more involved than merely observing "X happened, then Y." First, you need two large groups of children (hundreds or thousands in each group). Then you need to examine their medical histories, and record how many children developed each adverse event. Then you need to analyze whether the incidence of each adverse event is statistically different between the two groups. I've heard plenty of scare stories about horrible conditions developing after receiving the vaccine, but I have yet to see the statistical comparison to a control group.

I hope you never drink coffee before leaving for work in the morning. By your criteria, coffee is a killer, by causing people to have accidents.

Anaphylaxis is a type of allergic reaction.

Because that is a known consequence of vaccination, it is good medical practice to keep people in the area for several minutes following a vaccination (in case they develop anaphylaxis and require emergency treatment).

That is the reason you are asked about allergies, especially to components that might be in the vaccine, before receiving a vaccine.

When I received my flu shot a few weeks ago, I had to wait around for 20 minutes before I could go back to work.

HPV, unfortunately, has managed to follow people around and survive for millenia, whatever the morality of the population has been at any time.

One of the first cell lines established for use in medical research is the HeLa cervical cancer line. The donor of that line was a 31 year old married woman who was diagnosed with cervical cancer when her youngest child (of 5 total) was only a few months old. The cancer, caused by HPV 16, killed her within 8 months of diagnosis. She hardly fits my mental image of a promiscuous woman.

Here's a little more about that woman, if you're interested.

And little boys are prone to other HPV related cancers.
