"Deeply concerned" police sergeants are coming out swinging today against obnoxious Wall Street protesters, saying they plan to "pursue legal action" against demonstrators who injure any of its members.

Ed Mullins, president of the NYPD's Sergeant’s Benevolent Association, said his group plans to pursue legal claims against Occupy Wall Street protesters should they cause injury to any of its 5,000 members.

“In light of the growing violence attendant to the 'Occupy' movements across the country, particularly as evidenced by the recent events in Oakland, I am compelled to place these so-called 'occupiers' on notice that physical assaults on police officers will not be tolerated," he said.

(SNIP)

He said over 20 cops have been injured in Occupy Wall Street-related incidents.

I hope he means sue them for personal injury (oh, the Left’s gotta love those trial lawyers now) AFTER NYPD also arrests them, charges them for assualt and throws them in jail awaiting prosecution to the full extent of the law.

Even without snow New York in the wintertime is not exactly “New York in June”

A vigorous application of a “wood SHampoo” typically discourages violence by protestors. (Especially this gaggle of panty-waists)

I agree; hose them down about sunset tonight when temperature drops. Come back in an hour once they are nice and cold; offer them fur coats. I figure this fringe group has to be full of PETA sympathizers.

Occupy was set up AS IF it was still 1968 and EVERYONE but the protesters followed the "rules".

That's not the case in 2011.

The protesters are besieged with the "homeless", criminals and other riffraff taking their food and stealing their computers.

Joan Baez isn't singing for their cause - talentless rude drummers ARE ...

The police? Rather than playing the role of 'heavy' to their 'innocent' the police are handling them with kid gloves - AND THEY'RE GOING TO SUE THEM.

Interesting. Not saying it couldn’t happen, because lawyers can sue a ham sandwich, but have never heard of personal lawsuit being successful against a citizen who assaulted a police officer. Indictment, criminal conviction, yes, personal injury lawsuit, no.

Interesting times. I just wish the OWS folks understood that they are hurting other citizens because of the allocation of resources going to keep a lid on things at these protests. Perhaps that’s by design.

Hundreds of thousands of tea party protesters in DC. All is peaceful, and law abiding and the place is left spotless.

Occupy Wallstreet protesters (hundreds? thousands?). Law breaking, violence and filth in plentiful supply.
