Why President Obama and His Advisers Are Absolutely Convinced He Will Be Re-elected In 2012
FOXNews ^ | 10-28-11 | Douglas E. Schoen

President Obama and his team are quite optimistic they will win reelection in 2012, notwithstanding the bad poll numbers he is facing and the absolute collapse of confidence with Washington and indeed the American economy.

There are a number of reasons why the president and his advisers are so optimistic.

First, it is his judgment that with the horse race now tied for president, he has managed to weather the storm of a declining economy and declining confidence much better than he, or frankly most observers, would have expected.

But what heartens the president's advisers is they believe they have locked into a strategy now that they are convinced can and will pay dividends.

First, they have largely given up on trying to work with Congress. With executive orders on housing and student loans, and a new slogan of "We can't wait!" the president and the Democrats are now arguing that gridlock in Washington is almost exclusively the Republicans' fault and that a "do nothing" Congress, whose rating fell as low as 9% in the most recent New York Times poll, and a Republican party whose negative rating is over 71%, will get the lion's share of the blame for inaction and dysfunctionality.

Second, the president looks at the Republican primary field and laughs, as he did on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno this week.

“If they happen to skewer Obama while besting their opponents, all the better.”

So far, I have seen little of this.

Instead of arguing about the best way to “bury” Obama, they are ripping each other to shreds to little end. They should be arguing tactics in correcting Obama’s mess. But the Mainstream People who run these things are steering the “debates” away from that and onto each other.

“the efforts that the main stream media will make to keep him in office.”

Yeh, that worked real well in 2010, didn’t it? Let’s go for a repeat and stomp the media’s n*ts into the concrete again.

Frankly, I think Obama will end up winning, or we will have another squeaker.

The GOP is so much in disarray right now, we are not able to even pick a candidate. And the “my way or the highway” people here at FR will stay home and give it to The One.

People will finally vote for Romney ! They will not stay home ! But, there will be not people making phone calls, walking & talking in their precincts, no one to put the signs, writing to editors and so on ! That is going to determine the election

Replace Romney with Conservative candidate. The mood will be different

If given the choice between two candidates who are both big government liberals that signed government-mandated health care into law and defend it to this day, give up on trying to clean out the White House and donate your time and money to House and Senate candidates who deserve them.

Don’t forget how much we failed accomplish when Dubya had Republican majorities in Congress. The welfare state wasn’t rolled back; federal departments weren’t eliminated; no budgets were cut. I could go on and on. We got nothing done because a RINO-in-chief gives the establishment types absolutely no incentive to even pretend to be conservative.

We do have to vote for RINOs sometimes, but Romney isn’t even a moderate; he’s a lying, opportunistic socialist. If you can talk yourself into supporting someone like that, you may as well become a Democrat.

You vote for the Republican, regardless of who it is

Not a snowball's chance in hell will I vote for Romney or any other RINO!

But Romney will get the nomination. Sadly, I don’t see anyone else out there.

Cain just comes off to rough.

As I see it, Obama will win. He has been a very generous Santa lately and it will pay off. The die is cast for this country and I really believe that nothing can be done. The only votes he has not locked is the white private, Christian voters and he doesn’t need them.

Good percentage of the military vote: closing shop in the ME and bringing the troops home.

Latino and other immigrant vote: recenty issued the executive power amnesty.

Student 18-25 vote: Getting their student loans reduced not to mention his support of Occupy.

Gay vote: Reversed DADT

All union members: including teachers, firefighters, police.

Green Vote: They love him. Gave our money to a bankrupt solar panel company making them ecstatic.

Black Vote: Nothing more to add.

Don’t forget, with each of these types of people they have family, friends, etc. who sympathize with them.

Then, you and others who think/feel similarly must be very confident of having sufficient and sustained margins in the House and Senate to be able to shape, direct, and control the agenda, appointments, etc. over their Congressional dissenters and a reelected President Obama.

I presume that you intend to achieve your policy objectives this way, and consider that this method is more likely to be a sustainable reality????

That seems to fly in the face of history (pick your period), But, maybe there is something fact-based and realistic that I am overlooking . . . .

I hate to tell you that I agree with you 100% there is going to be a rocky road next summer. These Parasites are itching for a reason to call martial law. I do know it sounds crazy. But next summer their will be riots and they will explode into not only the cities but also the outer cities and that will be a big blow up. And guess what “for the good of the country I am taking the step to stop the violence. I am enacting martial law for a period of three weeks to calm things down.” Ok I know good fiction but with this bunch nothing is to far fetched.

You are absolutely spot on and is the heart of what is needed. I have often thought that is is essential to explain exactly what communism, socialism and marxism is all about. Our educational system has failed to do so and the youth see these in an almost heroic light. They do not understand the core of these beliefs, and what it would mean to their way of life. Ok, so who is going to be the one to enlighten them? I see one person in the field of candidates that has the historical, constitutional, and experience to do so and that is Newt Gingrich. I might also add, he has the balls as well.

Those that underestimate their enemy, generally lose.

There are hundreds of reasons why Obama should lose, just as there were mountains of reasons why he should have never been elected in the first place.

Regardless of the strong case against him, Obama could definitely win.

My concern is not so much that he could win, instead, WILL WE give it to him.....?
