He is the man with the mustache who takes a rebellious drag on a cigarette in the Herman Cain Internet ad gone viral.
"We've run a campaign like nobody's ever seen," he says before taking a puff. "But then America's never seen a candidate like Herman Cain."
Meet Mark Block, Cain's unorthodox campaign manager. Perhaps no one is more responsible for the Georgia businessman's meteoric rise in the presidential polls than Block, a Republican strategist and tea party leader who's left a trail of questionable campaign work behind him.
Block has been accused of voter suppression and was banned from running Wisconsin political campaigns for three years to settle accusations he coordinated a judge's re-election campaign with a special interest group.
Records show Block has faced foreclosure on his home, a tax warrant by the Internal Revenue Service and a lawsuit for an unpaid bill. He also acknowledges he was arrested twice for drunken driving.

“I made that mistake with Fred Thompson.”
All I did was post a picture. Must be in your mind.
That is Romney campaign SOP. So is getting hysterically indignant at anyone who blows your cover as a Romneybot
Perry spoke Sunday at Koch brothers gathering near Vail
Gov. Rick Perry spoke Sunday at a summit hosted by the billionaire Koch brothers near Vail, Colorado.
So, pinhead, I guess this disqualifies your guy Perry, using your own standards as stated on this thread.
For the record, I like the Koch brothers, they are big supporters of Liberty positions, free market economics, and America First policy. However, to answer your question (and I see this as a plus mind you)- The Koch brothers have been big donors to Perry ($1.2 Million big) and Perry has attended their campaign retreats.
Best not to overtly demonize those on your side.
Americans for Prosperity. One of their front groups.
If you read the article this group is how Bock and Cain met and became best buds.
I suppose you could claim that Sarah is in bed with them since she spoke at Tea Party events. Who paid her speaking fees or trans cost.
see how it works.
From the beginning there have been attacks on Perry because he supposedly talk to this person or that etc etc.
When the table is turned you guys get all worked up. It’s a two way street. Maybe everyone shoud pay attention to the REAL issues. Beating OBAMA.
Frankly Rove/Bush cabal and the Koch Brothers are in a pissing contest. Billionaires fighting billionaires. B/R have Romney and the Kochs have Cain.
While REAL conservatives are being pushed aside.
The Koch Brothers are pretty good guys from all I can read....
Glenn Beck spoke at an Americans for Prosperity event.
You have no clue who the enemies are.
Marty, you aren’t helping Perry by trashing Americans for Prosperity either. Not only are they one of the strongest Conservative groups out there, Perry is a supporter of theirs and vice versa.
Are you sure you really support Perry? You seem to be baiting people into turning on groups and people that support Perry. You are getting into Willie Green territory attacking AFP and the Koch brothers. What are your thoughts on High Speed Rail?
Money talks. :-)
Don’t look now, but you’re one of the few. Suggest you tone it down before you get a timeout.
What the heck are you talking about?
Her face looks unnatural - like cast plaster.
A former aide has revealed that an email was sent round stating that when traveling in a car with the Republican presidential candidate: 'Do not speak to him unless you are spoken to.'
Sounds like a perfectly reasonable request to me, but even if one thinks it isn't, so what? And how many people ride in a car with Herman Cain anyway?
Not to mention we don’t even know if it is true. It is, of course, an ‘unnamed’ source and it is from the Daily Mail which is only one step more reliable than The Globe. If Batboy looks for a new job, he could go to the Daily Mail and feel at home.
The second I heard Mark Block steal the “Let Reagan be Reagan” line and apply it to himself, I knew he was a Class A jackass. Anybody who’d let this bozo represent him doesn’t know how to judge character.
Yours is an idiotic post.
Did you also flip out in 2008 when people suggested that the McCain campaign should “let Palin be Palin”?
If you don’t know the difference between a no-name campaign staffer and Sarah Palin, that’s your prerogative, I guess. It does seem to indicate you don’t know much about politics, however.
When a no-name campaign staffer compares himself to Reagan on national television with the words, “Let Mark be Mark,” and fails to keep the focus on his principal, Herman Cain, he proves himself to be a liability to his principal, and he shows himself, to anyone who knows politics and political campaigns, to be a Class A jackass who should be fired immediately.
Anyone who’d hire a jackass like this guy lacks judgment. Period.
You are a lying idiot. Nobody compared himself to Reagan and you know it. It is a common expression, one not exclusively associated with RWR. You are making up nasty nonsense in service to some other candidate and are just too corrupt to campaign honestly. Given your underhanded nature I suspect there’s magic underwear involved.
I see you really don’t know very much about politics and recent American history.
I challenge you to find the quote, “Let so-and-so be so-and-so” prior to Michael Deaver saying “Let Reagan be Reagan” in connection to Deaver’s public relations strategy for the Reagan White House. You won’t find it, because Deaver coined the phrase.
Reagan, of course, would never have been so arrogant as to use the phrase on himself, unlike Herman Cain’s no-name staffer, who clearly exhibits a surfeit of arrogance and stupidity both in the dumb commercial he starred in, and in everything he has said subsequently.
He should be fired immediately, and every day Cain fails to fire him shows a lack of judgment on Cain’s part.
You are failing to understand how language works. Even if no one ever used the phrase prior to Deaver, that was thirty years ago. What matters today is how the expression is used today.
