It’s amusing that a guy smoking in a commercial is as controversial as it is.

Both of you need to wake up and move away from your hatred of smoking and smokers.

This ad - and I don’t even think it was meant as an ad to begin with - has NOTHING to do with smoking. Did either of you even LISTEN to what was said? That is probably doubtful considering your harping on what amounts to about less than 3 seconds.

Get rid of the anti smoking mantra and pay attention. This was marketing genius.

It is people like you that is proving his genius because you keep harping on the most insignificant parts of the ad (smoking and looks) and are causing more and more people to look to see what all the hullabaloo is about and you’ve got to realize that more than one person is going to grasp the message who otherwise wouldn’t even have paid attention.

Listen to it without looking at it and maybe you will understand what I’m saying.

I think perhaps this will go down as the greatest subliminal ad in history. As soon as I saw it, I knew instantly that millions of people would be captivated with it and would be driven subconsciously to take a harder look at Herman Cain.

I just viewed it for about the 40th time and each time I see it, more is revealed. I suggest that everybody watch it for a minimum of ten times and see if it does not open some doors in your brain that you did not previously know even existed.

I don’t play stupid number games.

Conservatives have NOT voted for smoking bans - brain washed sheeple who think they have more rights than other have voted to infringe on property rights based upon BS provided by the millions of dollars from the pharmaceutical industry.

All you have proven is that you support the usurpation of private property rights by those that don’t own the property. What would your reaction be if the vote was 75% in favor of mandating all establishments MUST permit smoking? I seriously doubt it would be the same.

This was not MEANT TO BE AN AD.

That is what has been driving me nuts about this whole thing. No one wants to remember that and all seem to take the word of the LSM that it was meant to be a campaign ad.

On the other hand people who would never have seen it are all now seeing it and getting the message - and that is a good thing.

Accidental or not - it is shear marketing GENIUS!!!!!

I wasn’t addressing your “numbers.” Without seeing the actual questions and who was behind them I take no stock in “polls” whether I like the results or not.

Had the voters chosen to mandate smoking be permitted in all establishments that invite the public would you be so accepting of the will of the people to trample the rights of owners to prohibit it?

I have a different recommendation - listen to it several times without watching.

I heard it a bunch of times on the radio before I ever saw it. The message becomes even more powerful if you then watch it. Neither Block’s looks or his smoking have anything to do with the true message, but do emphasize it.

Pure genius as far as I’m concerned.

Here are my worthless thoughts on smoking.

Wrong! Your thoughts are interesting to me, thanks for sharing. :-) I thought I was the only one who has been chewing nicotine gum for years until I read your post. I quit dipping snuff three years ago but I'm still using the gum.

conservatives have marched into voting booths and freely voted to restrict smoking areas or increase taxes.

Increasing taxes on addictive substances is the typical immoral actions of the left. If they need more tax revenue, why don't they try cutting spending instead? And the idea that the government should be telling private businesses how to run their business isn't a conserative position. If a resturaunt or bar wants to allow their customers to smoke in their facility, they should have that right. If someone doesn't like it, they don't have to eat/drink there anyhow.

Do not try reasoning or logic on Drango when it comes to the issue of smoking. Drango is as bad as the average lib - mind is made up, don’t confuse with facts.........and never infringe on the “rights” they have on the private property they DO NOT own and are not obligated to patronize.

I just love the establishment tricks, don’t you? What’s scary is so many people falling for it!

These are the same people who will look at an online poll in which Ron Paul wins with 80% of responses and (rightly) conclude that it’s a BS result.

They are running scared, and I am LOVING it! :)

What do you have against Block personally? With the way you are attacking his LOOKS “the ugliest thing to walk the Earth” it doesn’t make your argument look logical. It makes it seem like you have a personal grudge against Block. The fact that he doesn’t have a plastic smile, and plastic hair is exactly what makes this video short really good. He’s a REGULAR person. People are sick of the slicksters on BOTH sides. Looking at the outer package is exactly what got us into this mess (i.e. Clinton, Obama, etc...). Look to the INSIDE and you will see why people are responding positively.

I could smell the smoke coming out of my TV set. LOL

People have become so over sensitized over smoking they think that
one whiff will kill them. Light a cig in a Restaurant and people will
get fighting mad these days. Sometimes I'll light a cig in a Rest bathroom
and place it behind the toilet to stink the place up.

Well, for what it’s worth-I have talked to my doctor about the fact that I am still chewing nicotine gum—he had no problem with it...hey, it keeps me calm....if you know what I mean....

People go bezerk—At our city doggie park one day, there was a woman who sat down at a picnic table on the outside of the park to watch the dogs play. In a few minutes, she lit a cigarette. This one woman (big time liberal obammy supporter) sitting beside me inside the park went nutz yelling at the lady to move away.

Just because this irritated me, I told the lady to wait a minute, and I went out and lit up one with her—LOL1
