The former House Speaker told a jam-packed Chick-fil-A here Friday that he considers the businessman, a fellow Georgia resident, a good friend. “But I think in terms of practical, deep understanding of America that we just operate in two different worlds, we’ve had two different career tracks,” said Gingrich

Newt Gingrich is a man of ideas, is smart, has solutions, knows how the world works, and has leadership qualities.

No one can argue that Gingrich is not qualified to be president. I can see Gingrich in the situation room making tough decisions without needing 16 hours to adjust or calculate how it will affect him politically.

A President Gingrich would be feared by dictators and respected by our allies.

Gingrich may be old school but sometimes it is old school that we need..... In today’s climate where the world is falling apart in front of our eyes, we need ourselves some old school,.... someone that knows how the system works and how the game is played.

This is not a cycle where we can afford to focus on style or on making history or proving a point. There is too much going on in the world to worry about what someone did in their personal life over a decade ago, especially when the true facts are sketchy at best.

In this election cycle, people won’t care about the drama; people will care about the issues and if Gingrich ever has a shot at winning, it is this cycle. With the current deck we’ve been dealt, Gingrich is the ace in the pack.

Newt Gingrich may not be the perfect man, but no one is. A President Gingrich might and probably will screw up more than once,... and so will any other president . The objective is to weigh and measure out of all the candidates which kind of screw ups you are willing to accept...

.... and out of all the candidates in the field, I would rather risk Gingrich’s potential screw ups than anyone else’s.

In addition, when weighing the pros and cons, Gingrich’s pros outnumber his cons by far.

(Comment I agree on which says it better than ...from Sela i think)

“The fact he (Newt) has those connections is a plus... for there will be no time to waste to learn how to navigate thru the politicians, who they are where they stand etc...most of all “HOW they play... in the Washington maze...that is to our advantage.”

Connections = political navigation? Are you sure you are not in the Mitt camp? this is too stupid.

LOL. I’m not a political neophyte. Save your breath unless you’re trying to convince yourself. I won’t vote for him, period.

Face it, at the debates Gingrich is the only grownup in the room.

His depth of knowledge is unsurpassed, he plays chess while the others play checkers.

Those who would vote for an untested individual who has never held office during times like these should have their heads examined.

I thought Republicans were smarter than that.

Amen

Newt should be placed in a holding pattern as chief of staff or press secretary while waiting for an opening in the Supreme court. The court would benefit from having a well versed historian on the bench.

You don't even want to go there with those remarks. And just so you know, this will be my first and last post to you. Some people just aren't worth the pot to p*iss in.

I’ll be happy if they put him in a strategic place with the next administration..no doubt about that. He’s good for our country at this time and we’re going to need some “seasoned” players.

I have noted some things very different from the Newt in Washington before...his comments are measured and he knows exactly what he wants to say and how to say it while being very comfortable with himself now. I think he has put his past behind him...and it shows.

Let’s see... after the sofa, Newt chided the GOP for trying to cut spending, calling it “Right wing social engineering”. Is that recent enough?

He has a lack of judgement! Yes he’s smart and can debate but if you continue to make bad judgement calls again and again like newt ( I’m not talking his personal issues) something is terribly wrong. Lobbying for Freddie from conservative reform is not a little mistake he knew what he was doing.

You failed to post Newt’s complete quote...and that needs to be read in the context it was spoken in the conversation being conducted.

This is what Newt said:

“I don’t think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering,” Gingrich said, calling ‘the plan’.. “too big a jump” for the country. “I don’t think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate.”

How about Newt’s “middle of the road” on illegal aliens speech from last week?

Newt certainly disproved Gores Global Warming facts before the House Energy Committee in good form I thought. He also clarified briefly his “sofa” sitting with Pelosi..yet again!

Wish people would get current with their facts about Newt. I suspect those still using those arguments are simply not current with their information or playing off someone elses posts for the sake of their own candidate.

Thanks for posting that video..I thought I had been pretty thorough checking where Newt stands today...but I missed this video and certainly worth the listen.

Thanks for Posting it...I will use it in the future if you don't mind.

Ah, yes, the old playing off someone elses posts for the sake of their own candidate trick!

As in:

Gotcha.
