Car Manufacturer Conservatives Can Support? [Vanity]
Vanity | November 1, 2011 | Me

Posted on 11/01/2011 5:31:05 PM PDT by WPaCon

Hi, everybody. Right now, I am beginning to consider buying a new car. As with all purchases, I try to support only companies that conservatives can support in good conscience. I've been doing some research lately, but not all information is easy to come by concerning car manufacturers. Since buying a car is a major purchasing decision that requires giving a large amount of money to a company, I've decided to also consult the experts: freepers. So what car companies should a conservative have the least trouble supporting based on things such as employing union labor, corporate donations, locations of production facilities, corporate pandering to the homosexual lobby, accepting government bailouts, etc.?

Japan is no longer our enemy. As far in what they did in the past that was fine.. Time to live in the here and now and quite frankly until the UAW slugs are out of Ford, GM, and Chrysler also GM drops the Volt or no longer owned by the Government I will.. Until them heck no..

The default for libertarians is to be slobbering internationalists. Thanks for that reminder

All of the technology belong to Japan, INC. All of the major decisions are made in Japan. For the most part, the US workers do low tech grunt work and even those in so called management positions are very limited as to how high they can rise. They are second class citizens in the eyes of the Japanese. If Honda could, they would pack up and leave tomorrow. And they will leave one day. You see Rudder, I’m very familiar with the Japanese. I’ve worked there and spent lots of time with Japanese suppliers (many years). Trust me, they don’t have our best interests at heart. If you think they do, you are quite the fool.

Ford, Toyota, Honda, Mercedes, BMW, don’t make a Camaro. So, buy what you want to drive, I get in my 2010 Camaro every day and smile while driving, I love that car that damn much.

No, all assembled in the USA

You really need to do some research before posting such bunk. That “assembled” line is about twenty years out of date

I'm very happy so far with my 06 silverado. It's a great truck for my needs. It's a kind of rare v-6 cyl with the full 8 ft bed (hard to find 2 doors). Has the factory bed liner which has been great for transporting glass. Thermal inserts, just don't slide around back there.

I'm on my 3rd Chevy truck in a row. 4th lifetime if including my 1957 stepside, that was a long time ago. However this is the first one I ever bought new from Chevrolet and it will probably be the only one. Croney bail-outs pissd me off. I'll buy used in the future, or I'll switch to Ford. The F-150 is a good truck.

Ford may support any number of stupid causes, they might be UAW made, but it's pure USA capitalism as it is still allowed to exist in these days of Obama.

May they soon end!!!

You get it...thanks.

And thank you for your intelligent remarks. It looks like we have to fight stupidity one post at a time. The problem many have on this site is that they would cut their nose off to spite their fact. I hate the UAW as much as anyone on this site. They are a huge part of the problem with the US Auto Industry. But we are down to only 3 (or maybe 2-1/2 Car Companies). If we were to lose that knowledge base in manufacturing, it would be near impossible to get it back. Most of these posters are clueless about that. And how for the life of me these troglodytes think that transplants are the same as US Chartered companies is beyond me. I think these people have been listening to a little too much Rush Limbaugh who when it comes to this subject, doesn't know which end he's talking out of.

And this nonsense that if GM went down somebody would come along and pick up the pieces is stupidity squared. This would never happen. Nobody had the capital to pick up the pieces when GM got into trouble. The US government has been a huge part in what ails GM and Manufacturing in general. I wonder how many of these free-market loving posters are aware of just how much that Japanese and Korean Manufacturers are subsidized by their governments. I bet Kevin never knew or even thought (if he can think) of that. They are subsidized BIG time and there is no level playing field.

No, most of these posters simple don't know very much at all. I'm doing my small part in trying to educate some of them.

Sorry I don’t like GM, they should gone through a normal bankruptcy like Ford did and come out leaner and meaner. If they had done it that way I would consider buying a GM.. Since they didn’t oh well, GM deserves to die.

Be sure to buy a Toyota or Honda or Hyundai this way the profits go to foreigners. This kind of thinking is what made America great and helped us win World War Two! Support foreign corporations over American ones!

Versus, say, keeping the money here and then giving away in despotic taxation and then to foreign nations through idiotic boondoggles? Or how 'bout giving it all to grossly corrupt unions and untenable pension and medical costs? Yeah, baby! Then there's the unbeatble deal of getting a rolling crap shoot that guzzles gas. You betcha!

I’ll call your Camaro and raise with a Ford Mustang 5.0, beats your Camaro in most, if not all, performance categories.
