A spokesman for Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s campaign is adamantly denying that members of the GOP presidential candidate's staff leaked a story has swamped Herman Cain's campaign this week. Instead, the Perry camp is pointing a finger at the campaign of another rival Republican, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, as a possible source of the report about the sexual-harassment charges levelled a decade ago against Cain by female subordinates at the National Restaurant Association.

It took Perry’s people long enough to come up with a story...

Now, I hope the Perrybots who whined about Cain throwing out “accusations” about his campaign, will be consistent when accusing the Perry camp of baseless allegations against Romney. I won’t hold my breath.

“Wilson works for a pro-Perry political action committee, but federal election law requires such groups to remain independent of the candidates they support. “

Looks like we have a SMOKING GUN in the last sentence. Everyone knows that PACs coordinate with their guru, they just do it informally.

Cincinnati will not be happy now...

Both people involved worked for perry. And he was not involved, sure , it would require a complete fool to buy that one.

This is getting comical. Next hour, the Romney people will be blaming the Paul people.

Ugh, this is a bloodbath.

Look for Gingrich to benefit.

Then all of HIS stuff will come out.

In the end, it’s going to be Romney.

How the **** did we get here when we had three years to find a real conservative leader?

This sucks.

My lowest moment at FR in 11 years was being on Perry’s ping list for a month. I should have known better.

My money is on the Obamalamadingdong people being behind the whole thing!
Just look, now we have three of our candidates tarred with this brush. A curse on both Romney and Perry if they were involved, but I’ll bet neither were.

By the time the smoke clears, we’ll be left with candidate Huntsman. Good grief.

What a freaking mess. So much for the collegiate atmosphere of the early debates.

You hit the nail on the head. This feeding frenzy has destroyed the conservative effort in ‘12. I hope (pray) that DeMint or Palin belatedly joins this race after Romney looks to be a lock (which will be soon).

Nope. Don’t let the media/liberals/GOPbots fool you. I’m sticking with Cain no matter what, our ground has to be stood. If the conservative vote scatters yet again, I fear Romney or Perry will win. But as long as conservatives stay united, Cain can still easily win this.

Good news is, even polls after the media manufactured “scandal” still show Cain in the lead. Don’t abandon him just yet. :)

Cain will not blame Romney. That would kill his chance for a VP nomination if Romney should be the nominee. And it’s obviously not going to be Perry.

Circular firing squad. This is going to give us another four years of Obama, and thus the death knell of this once great nation :-(
