Cain chief-of-staff walks back Perry accusations

Herman Cain's chief-of-staff Mark Block walked back accusations that Rick Perry's campaign was responsible for the leak of accusations of sexual harassment during the candidate's time as president of the National Restaurant Association, saying that he would "accept" the claim by a former staffer now affiliated with the Perry campaign that he was not the leak.

"Until we get all the facts, I'm just going to say that we accept what Mr. Anderson has said, and we want to move on with the campaign," Block said on Fox News.

Curt Anderson, the former Cain staffer, has flatly denied the accusations, saying earlier on Fox News that any reporters he had ever spoken to about the Cain were free to openly attribute those comments to him. In doing so, he opened up the door for Politico, who originally reported the story, to confirm him as the source. Politico has not done so, effectively eliminating Anderson as the source of the story.

You get the gold star for correctly repeating the talking point from Rove verbatim. Romney is not acceptable under any circumstances.

Forget the details! They’re as relevant as Newt’s famous extramarital affairs and Romney’s abuse of animals.

Let’s get back to the ISSUES!

Who the hell is running Cain’s campaign? They are the ones I am angry with.

I know. It’s like having Peter Sellers as the Pink Panther, ciggy in mouth, for your main spokesperson.

All of these Cain “mistakes” in expressing himself is happening because he is not a politician. Most conservatives have said they don’t like politicians. This is what you get. You either want a politician who knows what and what not to say in public or you want an ordinary normal mistake prone human being.

I completely agree and for that reason am willing to cut Cain a huge amount of slack. But as to these rumors and innuendos, I do want some proof or resolution. They are out of control and unless they are boiled down to specifics, they will create a cloud that will follow Cain.

We need to know the specifics of the allegations.

They can make fun of Cain on SNLive all they want it won’t work. The old Alinskyization trick is worn and old.

Cain handles himself quite well; ODonnell could not take him down and some misquote on China won’t

Also where was the MSM repeating the Obama idiotic sound byte that even taken in full context was STILL idiotic of Naval ‘Corpse’men?Obama is dumber than a box of rocks he truly could not manage a lemon aid stand successfully.Where are Obama’s college grades? Let’s talk about that in the news 24/7 as to why Obama is perfectly purposefully bringing America down?

Thanks for the gold star but I do not listen to Rove. I just believe that Cain is not ready for "prime time".

Politico has not done so, effectively eliminating Anderson as the source of the story.

I haven't watched the video, just read the article, quick-read most of the comments here. Isn't it possible that Politico chose to not name Anderson, even if they could? I certainly don't trust them, why would I trust their representation of sourses?

Am I missing something?

Idiotic. Not ready for prime time. There is more that will come out on Cain. He’s an unknown with plenty of enemies given the work he has done. Unlike Obammy who did not work and didn’t even vote often times. They media will be bringing them all out to whine for the cameras.

Sorry, I'm done with this guy, can't we just draft Sarah at the Republican convention?

I'm beginning to sense God at work in the background here.

Thank you all for your comments. I’m hesitant to even post truthful facts anymore because I know I’ll get slammed or called names. For over 10 years I never had that happening before.

I very strongly suspect that Chris Wilson, who is conveniently doubling as the “witness”, is the source.

This would be the witness Chris Wilson who says he can't legally tell what he says he witnessed even though he is certainly NOT restrained by a non-disclosure doc.

This would be the same witness Chris Wilson who has previously worked with Karl Tokyo Rove who has been campaigning against Cain as soon as Cain got a little traction. (Wilson worked with Rove on Bush's campaign.)

This is the same witness Chris Wilson who can't talk about what he says he saw and heard, but who insists that if the woman (who has so far refused) comes forward, it will end Cain's campaign.

I believe that Anderson has issued positive accounts of Cain's character and integrity publicly in the past. That doesn't prove that he is not the source of this scummy attack on Cain, but it makes it somewhat questionable. The fact that he has links to Romney and his campaign doesn't look good, but it's not conclusive that he would back stab a friend.

Chris Wilson sure looks to me like a major liar with his BS excuse that he can't talk about “it”—right after talking about “it” publicly and emphatically and knowing that he works with one of the biggest and most destructive Republican backstabbers Karl Rove.

I think we need to focus HARD on Chris Wilson.

[That statement was about China’s aircraft carriers.
For the 1000th time.]

No, this was her question;

JUDY WOODRUFF: Do you view China as a potential military threat to the United States?

HERMAN CAIN: “I do view China as a potential military threat to the United States”.

JUDY WOODRUFF: And what could you do as president to head that off?

HERMAN CAIN: “My China strategy is quite simply outgrow China. It gets back to economics. China has a $6 trillion economy and they’re growing at approximately 10 percent. We have a $14 trillion economy — much bigger — but we’re growing at an anemic 1.5, 1.6 percent. When we get our economy growing back at the rate of 5 or 6 percent that it has the ability to do, we will outgrow China”.

“And secondly, we already have superiority in terms of our military capability, and I plan to get away from making cutting our defense a priority and make investing in our military capability a priority, going back to my statement: peace through strength and clarity”.

“So yes they’re a military threat. They’ve INDICATED that they’re TRYING to develop NUCLEAR CAPIBILITY and they want to develop more aircraft carriers like we have. So yes, we have to consider them a military threat”.

China conducted its first test of a nuclear device on October 16th... 1964.
Cain is the one who mentioned aircraft carriers.

Herman Cain: ""Maybe I misspoke," he (Cain) said. "What I meant was China does not have the size of the nuclear capability that we have."

People will not sit this one out, Charles Manson could be our nominee and he would beat Obama.

If Cain has no worries about confidentiality agreements being opened, open and end this distraction.
