Nobody’s fracking where these earthquakes are, genius. The fracking is in the S and SW parts of the state, this is in central east, hundreds of miles away.

I can't imagine that anyone with half a brain would believe that fracking shale would cause an earthquake. The amount of energy required to cause a 5.2 earthquake, which is the equivalent of more than 480 metric tons of TNT, is not possible when fracking.

Besides Shale is soft compared to bedrock. I don't believe that shale rubbing together would cause seismic activity on that scale.

It’s Okie Godzilla waking up about 10,000 feet down, ready to play his part in the End Times. As an Oklahoman, my job will be to tell him, “Start walking east or west til you get to the ocean - those are the folks you’re mad at.”

” I can’t imagine that anyone with half a brain would believe that fracking shale would cause an earthquake. “

Libs - who, by definition, have half-a-brain (or less), believe it as a matter of faith....

A friend in Sedalia, MO felt it. We were sleeping at the time, and we are near a railroad line, so if it wasn’t BIG here, I wouldn’t feel it. I am in northern MO.

You Sooners just need to stop fracking around. It’s only gonna lead to trouble.

Injection wells are not the same as fracking. Do educate yourself on the specifics, please, before going off all half-assed and whole-stupid on this subject.

It would. I live in SE Iowa and it’s estimated a quake that size would drop every building standing. It’s worse as you go east because the soil and bedrock are more conducive to transmitting shock waves, so the effect is more pronounced with a given size quake.

I’m in NW Illinois and felt nothing, but my pet bird freaked out about this time.

Very tight clustering, interesting...

And all at the same depth.

I didn’t feel it here in the Plano area, but hearing this now explains why my dog zipped past the kitchen and rushed under my bed — refusing to come out 5 min. later when I tucked myself in for the night.
