If all the allegations are true (and I believe they are). Joepa has no one but himself to blame. When confronted with this evidence in 2002, he chose to tell the AD. And then did nothing basically. Keep in mind, we're talking about the anal rape of a child here. Why didn't he go to the police? I think I know the answer. Because it would be a scandal at his beloved institution. And Sandusky was not hired by the state. He was Joepa's assistant coach for more than 30 years and a close friend. He played on the team when Joepa was an assistant coach. Paterno put him on his team as a player, Paterno personally hired him as an assistant coach when Sandusky was just 25 and Paterno personally promoted him to DC in 1977.
