Penn State trustees fire football coach Joe Paterno and PSU president Spanier

Penn State trustees fired football coach Joe Paterno and university president Graham Spanier (SPAN-yer) amid the growing furor over how the school handled sex abuse allegations against an assistant coach.

The massive shakeup Wednesday night came hours after Paterno announced that he planned to retire at the end of his 46th season.

But the outcry following the arrest of former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky on molestation charges proved too much for the board to ignore.

One key question has been why Paterno and other top school officials didn't go to police in 2002 after being told a graduate assistant saw Sandusky assaulting a boy in a school shower...

A univerity who protects a homosexual child rapist is not a “fine university.” Ped State deserves to have a damaged reputation. They’ve more than earned it.

The top: A president that protects a guy that rapes boys.

The bottom: Janitors that witness a guy molesting little boys but are afraid to report it for fear of losing their jobs.

The middle: Everyone in between

It is sad, but Joe and others can take a hard lesson. Putting male homosexuals and boys together is a recipe for sexual predation. The Boy Scouts figured it out long ago and avoided it—note the queers labeled them homophobes, nazis, bigots and intolerants. The Catholic Church has suffered greatly and continues to hemorrhage money thanks to infiltration by male homosexuals. Now they are in the military. You can lay the success of the movement at the feet of hollywood where homosexual writers portray the deviant behavior as benign, intelligent and all about love. Those involved in public health know that male homosexuals are the #1 vector for the spread of at least a dozen infectious diseases.

The single comfort I get where JP is concerned is that this egotistical shameful enabler will live what’s left of his short miserable life with this on his conscience...assuming he has one.

I was under the assumption that “pedophilia” was the mental condition of being attracted to young boys and “pederasty” was actually acting on it. I’m sorry if I misunderstood the actual difference between the two words.

I have already volunteered to personally execute Sandusky if he is indeed guilty. Don’t you dare accuse me of apologizing for him or minimizing the severity of what he did because I may have used the wrong words.

I’m sick of having this discussion. Why was Paterno being reported to? He’s not law enforcement. If McQueary witnessed a murder, would he have waited and gone to Paterno? We don’t know the extent of what was told to Paterno. What we do know is that Paterno took the allegations seriously enough to report to his boss and the de facto police commissioner with jurisdiction. He put the actual witness in touch with those people.

He knew that a graduate assistant had reported something to him. He took it seriously enough to report it to his direct superior and the de facto police commissioner with jurisdiction. He put McQueary in touch with them. This is not ignoring it and it is not sweeping it under the rug. Paterno was a 75 year old football coach, not a lawyer or a law enforcement officer. Make no mistake, there are a lot of guilty people in this case who could have and should have done more to stop Sandusky. Paterno isn’t one of them.

Your argument is complete crap. All you are after is a blood frenzy and some kind of turd world blame fest. I want to catch everyone responsible and cart them to jail, not have my media sacrificial lamb that I can wallow in their symbolic blood and feel righteous. This isn’t about me, or you, or your feelings - it’s about justice.

You seem to have almost a demonic desire to focus this on Paterno and McQueary when they were but one incident in a series, many of which were outside of JoePa’s knowledge and influence but not Curley’s, Schultz’s, the campus and city cops, and the DA. Why do you keep ignoring them for your pound of flesh?

You do realize that when Paterno and McQueary reported their incident, that was the SECOND time that Sandusky had been reported for doing something inappropriate with the SAME kid? Was THAT JoePa’s responsibility too, even though he likely had never heard about it? That’s the whole point, Sandusky was retired and most of what he was doing was outside of JoePa’s influence, but not the people directly above him - Curley, Schultz, the DA, Spanier, etc.

I don’t get your willful obtuseness to try and cover up for these people. Joe had his sins of inaction, but their sins were willful obstruction, obstruction hinting at a much wider set players and a possible ring. Don’t know why you and so many others keep putting an Alinsky like focus on JoePa and ignoring the bigger fish while trying to cover it up with some crap that JoePa was this all-powerful persona that could move mountains with his mighty hand. Apparently not, since when he took McQueary to Curley, Curley sure didn’t seem scared enough of him to do anything about it.

There are alot of people to bring to justice here but you keep focusing solely on Joe Pa. It kind of bothers me.

One word from Joe and Sandusky would have been in jail instead of continuing to rape boys in Joe's locker room.

Sure. Just like when that mom filed charges. Joe had god-like powers, and rules the justice system.

Joe was on the Second Mile board.

The Honorary Board? snort

Hey, we're blaming the wrong guy for this. It's all Andy Reid's fault.

Even though the GJ said that McQueary told Joe what he had seen,

And Joe also describes what McQueary told him. If what he said is what is different than what McQueary said, where are the perjury charges?

Joe for allowing Sandusky to continue doing 'something sexual' to little boys for years?

You know, if you look at the report, the next, and last, kid that Sandusky abused was off campus. You think Paterno should have staked out Sandusky's home? Of course, you do. You think he has god-like powers.

You are incorrect.

See posts #447 and #456 -- it is consistent with wanting to continue to sweep under the rug so the lavender Mafia at Pedo State doesn't get pulled up by the roots.

See this.

Time to declare war to the death on cultural Marxists who allowed this.

Did you know by the way that the "great" economist John Maynard Keynes was a pedophile who liked to go to Tunis to enjoy young boys?

Haven’t you ever heard of a ‘cooperating witness’? Joe made a deal with the prosecutors to testify against the others.

Why didn't he go public?

You really aren't the slickest bit of oil in the salad.

JP: I'm getting rid of Sandusky here because he buggers kids.

Press: Really, Joe?

JP: Yeah, the police just finished an investigation.

Press: Are they charging him with anything?

JP: Uh, no.

Press: Well, who did he abuse?

JP: Little Joey Smith. Poor kid. They are calling him victim 4, because it's really disgusting what the perv Sandusky did to him and they don't want his name out.

Well had he pulled him off he would likely have the boy to corroborate what he saw as well as the physical evidence of ass rape, so I don’t think you’re right here.

I would think it would be difficult to keep secret from the team that Sandusky regularly raped children in the shower.

Another angle most people probably haven't considered yet. There is a lot more to come out and it won't be pretty. I expect we'll learn that some members of the Board of Trustees knew of this over the many years.

Don’t know where you got that I wanted to absolve Paterno.
