Why didn’t the parents of those young boys go to the cops?
I have many questions about the whole mess...something is fundamentaly wrong.
These were at risk kids - so broken homes, absent fathers or even mothers - easy prey. Often the kids don’t tell their mothers what is going on so you can’t blame the parent in this case. One mother did notice her son had wet hair and questioned him - he said he showered with Sandusky and she did notify the police. It appears that big college money/power tends to make even local cops look the other way. No one did the right thing for these kids.
Yes, many questions. The first being, when Sandusky left the team in ‘99, what was the reason? Did Paterno know? Did the sports writers know? As usual, the media is creating a firestorm while at the same time covering for these creeps by not reporting what they really know.
One mother did. Her son was acting up/out and went to the son’s school to find out what was happening. The son broke down and told the whole story. Principal said she should think long and hard about reporting it. She immediately notified the authorities.
