... and why didn’t he wonder why Sandusky wasn’t jailed? And the fate of the 10 year old!
The SMU case involved breaking the Golden Rule of the NCAA (the only real one they have): Thou shalt not pay players. Gives them ideas, doncha know.
If I called my dad and told him I just caught a guy raping a 10-year-old, he would probably start talking about how we should dispose of the guy’s body.
“New info is that Sandusky was pimping out the boys to high dollar donors.”

WTF?
Am I the only heterosexual left on planet Earth?
Its reasonable for McQueary to coach the home game Saturday but I would not take him on the road for the final two games against Wisconsin and Ohio St.
Given the rioting of the student body, it looks like a damnably stupid idea to continue the season.
Hopefully.
These guys really don’t get it!
If you fire McQueary then you must fire all of the janitors who were aware of the 2000 incident with Sandusky and a minor in the showers.
From comments made by his father in USA today, his father thinks his son is some kind of hero!
Yes.
A point not within the bounds of the Grand jury investigation.
More shoes will drop.
No, thankfully you are not.
But it does make you wonder about what a species we are?
Retribution would be McQueerly in prison being raped and nobody saying anything to the guards.
but that’s probably just me.
I think so, and I think Sanddusky is going to plead out with more names.
Paterno was the former Athletic Director at PSU and knew what the school's legal responsibility. McQueary, at the time, was a graduate asssistance who wasn't aware of the school's legal responsibility.
Also, Paterno was involved with the retirement negotiations that gave Sandusky emeritus status at PSU. McQueary was not.
Agreed. This was a conspiracy, Kudos to the DA for reviving this issue.
Thats ridiculous. McQueary is the reason that the 2002 incident was reported to the PSU administrators. The reality is that McQueary was a hired hand at the time ( just like the janitors in the 2000 incident) while Paterno and all of the rest at the University were administrators and had greater resposnsibilties.
But the next questiom: "Kidney or spinal column?" may have stumped him.
The psychology of “good ole boy” networks, whether in sports, the police, political parties, religious institutions or business is the escape hatch in which those in the network will turn a blind eye to events that they know represent ethical lapses, in order to protect the perceived image of those in the network, because to reveal those lapses represents a blot on themselves as well; their identity is entwined in the group they are part of.
Protecting the image of the group, the institution they are part of obtains greater value - in their mind - than “doing what’s right” by others.
Yet, it never succeeds. In fact, it is a psychology that over time produces a greater, and deserved, attack on what they sought to protect - the public standing of their cherished group.
Had the molestation incidents been reported immediately by anyone who witnessed them or heard about them, the issue would have been long gone as far as the public image of the institution is concerned.
Instead, that entire long history itself now looks tarnished; and the amount of time for the institution to recover will be even longer.
In the end, who benefited? No one.
