That’s absolutely false. They merely had to say they WOULD apply for legal status. Nobody ever checked up on it.

Herman is more concerned about offending anyone than about what he thinks is best for border security?

Cain does this over and over: make comments that he has to apologize for and/or he says he was just joking when someone is offended or objects. No Muslims in his cabinet, 2 full days talking about “insensitive” rocks, alligators and electric fences that “will kill you.”

Herman’s just not very PC. He’s makes what are actually often sound, but Un-PC remarks and then is advised and pressured into backing off some of them.

You have it just bassackwards. Herman really isn’t concerned about offending people when he makes these remards, but others convince him that some remarks might be politically damaging, so he backs off to some extent. He’s still learning how to express some things as he campaigns for office.

He’s a radio talk show host, he’s not a novice.

Cain is absolutely a novice politician and a novice political campaigner. You aren't making a lot of sense in your attempts to prop up Perry by attempting to tear down Cain.

I am talking about Mr. Cain and only Mr. Cain. If I wanted to build up Governor Perry, I’d be writing about his good points. However, I don’t believe that people are persuaded by negatives, only by positives.

He has years of experience on the radio and more in business - these are supposed to be his strengths. And yet, in two separate interviews, several months apart, his first answer on abortion was “the government has no business in making that choice.”

He doesn’t seem to take responsibility for what his words mean. He qualifies his answers to the hilt (”now,” “I wouldn’t be comfortable . . .”with a muslim in his cabinet http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20070226-503544.html, as Perry’s VP http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20116779-503544.html , now as Romney’s VP )

When someone objects, he claims he was just joking, or he back tracks as he did with the Muslim in the cabinet statement http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20070226-503544.html.

However, the mannerism that bothers me the most is when he shakes his finger or fist and scolds us for noticing.

It’s positives that moved Cain from a single digit, third tier candidate to the leader in most polls. He was calm and reasonable during debates where others were pointing fingers and flaring up towards other candidates. You are viewing him with a very biased eye. You see mostly negatives where others see many positives.

And I say again that Cain is not as schooled in PCness and pandering as most politicians and that has led to some of his controversial statements.

I don’t look for the most PC candidate, but it seems to be important to you as you’re so focused on his very reasonable comment about Muslims (for anyone familiar with the basic beliefs of that religion).

I was focused on his pattern of “non PC” statements and then either saying he was joking or scolding us for noticing and then demanding that we move on, “that’s the end of it for me.”

That is not false. They COULD NOT APPLY for in-state tuition unless they had a temporary resident status on their citizenship application. THEY CANNOT GET IN STATE TUITION WITHOUT IT. PERIOD! IF the University of Houston was accepting those students and taking their money without it, they WERE NOT following the law.

That is NOT what the legislation says.

The legislation SAYS that before you can make application for in-state tuition your application for citizenship must be in temporary resident status. It DOES NOT say anything less.
