Penn State Scandal Impacts High School Recruits

GREER, S.C.-- The Penn State fallout is having a trickle-down effect on high school football recruiting. Adam Ah Ching, a senior linebacker at Greer High School, told WYFF News 4’s Kim Quintero that he’s played football since he was 6 and has his sights set on playing college ball. “When you're Polynesian, growing up, football is No. 1 in your life,” said Ah Ching. Ranked last year by ESPNU as the 26th linebacker prospect in the country, Ah Ching said he was paid a visit by Penn State's former assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky. “He came to my last spring game going into my senior season. He liked how I moved, laterally, and how gifted I am,” said Ah Ching.

Penn State should get a 3 year death penalty for football IMHO. Maybe more.

The one coach who saw the molestation and did nothing other than tell his Dad and then the coach, should be in jail, IMHO.

Paterrno, as great a coach as he has been...should lose all NCAA recognition over this.

IMHO, the coaching staff and the admin there knew what was going on and they ignored it...swept it under the carpet... and enabled the monster Sanducky.

Sick, disgusting affair all around.

Sorry... maybe some will say I am over reacting...but I have two sons and three gransons and if I knew something like this had been done to any one of them, I would be out with a gun hunting the guy doing it.

Thanks,Jeff...I hear ya.I think until all the rats are cleaned out of the nest-every stinking one of them-the program should be suspended.

Sandusky was linebacker coach and Penn state was known for having good ones. You would be aggressive and wanting to take someone out too if you had the nightmare in your brain of him behind you.

This is going to be a millstone round the neck of Penn State for some years. The civil suits will cost them a fortune. Its too bad that just a small number of people can bring shame to thousands.

My suggestion would be for Penn State to lose its football program for as long as Sandusky is alive.

That'd be an interesting quandary, wouldn't it?

"Penn State should get a 3 year death penalty for football"

Thankfully you have never been an emperor. You would shoot the messenger with bad news.

The multitude of manure for brains going there now has nothing to do with this.

Light bulbs with them are just now being lit with education and involvement. They are the future of our country and I believe in them. Hell, I was one of them many years ago.

Not going to expand on this. You get the idea.

There are rumors online that Sandusky was ‘pimping out’ young boys to high profile donors to PS....Madden, radio announcer, says it will be breaking news soon...I don’t know, but there were more witnesses to Sandusky pedophilia over the years...see this article:

There are also rumors online that our government is really run by reptiles from outer space.

Why the f*** do we even have a legal system? Paterno was already tried, convicted, and summarily executed in the court of public opinion despite a three year grand jury investigation finding no fault in him. Why should we stop at destroying his reputation based on no facts whatsoever?

Let’s bulldoze the entire University and shut down the football program. Hell, I bet everybody within 50 miles knew as well! They’re all culpable! KILL THEM ALL!

Bunch of f***ing morons here.

I’ve been sayin’ this all along ...

The current PSU recruiting class may reconsider their choice and try to get out of it [if the NCAA lets them].

Also, players currently on the PSU team might want to transfer - but they should not be penalized [sitting out a year] for doing so.

The NCAA should give them an exemption - like what happened with the UTEP basketball team a few years ago ...

Can’t confirm Madden, but I just read the GJ report. It talked alot about him taking them to games and giving many gifts. Not a stretch to imagine other men taking some of these boys for their own purposes. Also, when reading about going to games, team dinners, staying at his home, exercising with them as many times as stated; surely that had to raise a red flag or 2 with someone. That just ain’t right.

Did you read the article? This kid says Sandusky was recruiting him in the spring of 2011. Penn State didn’t comment.

Fine, let them investigate it. If it’s true, death penalty. Other schools have gotten it for far less than this. And those schools didn’t have the option of shitcanning everyone and starting fresh without penalty.

No, giving Penn State a 3 year football suspension is not "shooting the messenger with bad news." The football program was not the messenger...it was enabling the criminal. It's where he brought the kids.

The 3 years would be the message and it would be to Penn State in the hopes that the "light bulbs" would not just come on, but that they would remain lit from now on when it comes to this type of travesty.

And now we know... why McQueary hesitated to call the police. After all, there is a DA who has been missing since 2005. There was some deep, evil juju going on in that institution.

This kind of a mess happened in the Texas state run orphanage system decades ago.

Do not be surprised if it turns out to have been a good sized group of people by the time it all shakes out.

From his posts on other Penn State scandal.threads, one may safely assume he never reads any articles. He just shows up and insists anyone who wants all of these people fired by the university and investigated and prosecuted by the justice system are really a lynch mob clamoring to hang the entire student body from the trees on campus.

Football is likely his god, and we are all infidels because we elevate children above a little ball large men throw around in a chalked off pasture.

Yea right Jeff.

Your going to Penn State so you are going to get penalized. For what? Don't worry, your going to Penn State so your guilty.

Oh, you just got here? Sorry, your guilty. Three years from Jeff.

Three years sounds right. Hey, make it 10.

Can NOT disagree with that.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I got a real job after getting out of college, I learned more in 1-3 years on the job that I learned in college.

BTW, They put McCreary on administrative leave because he was going to coach, at the request of the players, tomorrow.

Those players there should get the opportunity to play out their scholarships or football at other universities.

SMU faced the dame problems, over much less.

Problem is you have an entire football department, to the athletic director, to the President of the University (and probably more before its said and done) wrapped up in this.

There’s no “emperor” about it...that’s just your way of trying to detract from the message...sort of like your own first statement of shooting the messenger.

Anyhow, it’s just my ownm recommendation and I an a nobody when it comes to the NCAA or anything like that. It’s still what I believe the program deserves and the message that needs to be sent about this sick travesty.

Young boys were molested terribly by a monster/predator who used the football program to intice them there and then used the facilities to conduct his molestation. Coaches , faculty, and adminnknew about it for years. One caich saw it happening. IMHO, dealing with that and sending the right message about that overrides these other issues.
