They’ve been circling the park all night.
They’re claiming victory it seems, I guess the police backed down?
It appears that way, doesn’t it? Crazy.

Not watching the stream myself. I’m able to get some good live shots on TV here in the Portland area.
I’m curious, what is the general attitude toward this OWS movement in Portland?
The police completely cowered before the lawless anarchists. It looks like we’ll have to take matters into our own hands.

The police have surrendered!
6:33 am. “It was incredible,” says David Osborn. “We only ever wanted the park and given the opportunity, we’ve stepped back into the park. It shows again the power of unifying for the change we want to see in society.” Everyone is back to the occupation.
6:32 a.m.: Police Chief Mike Reese, wearing his helmet, confers with his command staff at Southwest Third Avenue and Main Street.
Assistant Chief Larry O’Dea is conferring directly with an Occupy liaison and asked him to have the barricades removed from Third Avenue and Main so the street could be reopened. In return, says Micaiah Dutt, who described himself as a police liaison, Occupy would be allowed to keep the parks.
“The people came out in force today and the government answers to the people,” he says.
Protesters then removed the wooden pallets, table tops, emergency cones and other items blocking the street.
Dutt says the group plans to return to the encampment today.
Quick! someone obtain the grizzled, furry-legged throng a requisition for some disposable razors and a delousing agent.

Enabling of lawlessness anywhere is a threat to law and order everywhere.
Portland proper is VERY liberal, so I’m would say initially the mayor was encouraged by those that elected him to take a hands off approach to the occupation. But I would say now even the libs are against their downtown being turned into a sh*t hole.
This will embolden them for sure. I can’t see how the Mayor will be taken seriously at all after this.

KATU’s Facebook page has a lot of comments from Portlanders who are totally fed up with this nonsense. They’re more than disgusted with the cowardly pedophile mayor who is nowhere to be seen this morning after all of his bluster about getting them out of the parks.
