Its a tough question for an aspiring leader of the USA to answer - we’ve apparently just concluded a military action likely contrary to our national interests. Do you tell the truth and risk appearing ‘unpatriotic’ to the uninformed?

I thought Cain’s answers were perfectly fine. He seemed tired and stressed out, and obviously had a brainfreeze initially on the Libya question—but he recollected himself perfectly fine and gave a solid reply. That’s what counts.

Presidents are only human, not superheros. They’re subject to the same human limitations as the rest of us.

So a person is not allowed to clarify a question that is ambiguous before answering? His final answer is very good and thoughtful. The media is really trying to take him down and sadly it is working.

The media seems desperate. The rule (it’s been in place for decades) is that all Republicans are too stupid to be president. Now we have Obama in there as a Democrat president, and the media needs to show that all Republicans are more stupid than Obama. It’s a tough challenge, but the media is willing to try and find the evidence.

Isn’t that kind of a trick question? After all, does ANYONE really know what Pres. Obama’s view on Libya actually WAS? I know he talked about it, but I never really figured it out, myself.

My self I would of started off by saying the American public do not condone the killing of heads of states that started over 50 years ago taking out duly elected presidents of south American countries and the slather of the duly elected president of south Vietnam by the CIA, which some construe was the reason that JFK was assassinated.

BFD.

I don't see Cain as a guy who feels he has to make a decision without advice, or in the next ten minutes.

Between this and the Saturday night debate, it has not been a good week for Cain.

Perry is an establishment Republican with years of experience and screws up time and time again.

Cain is fairly new to the field of politics. What do you expect, perfection. If this is our standard, then we will get Obama in 2012.

Cain asked for clarity, then answered the question. What’s the big deal? This is not a debate.

So a person is not allowed to clarify a question that is ambiguous before answering?

Good point. We can go back to a Sarah Palin interview in which she was asked about "The Bush Doctrine". The media response was that she had fumbled the answer. It turned out that the media could not define the Bush Doctrine either.

Having the interviewer clarify the question is a smart tactic. The media is not your friend.

Really, the Romney patsies and their liberal buddies keep saying that Cain isn't a serious candidate and are doing everything in their power to prove it.
This is about the seventh time the Cain/Libyan thing has been posted today in one form or another.
The Cain hate is so thick on FR you need a cattle catcher to push through it.
Thankfully,we still like him here in South Carolina and WE pick the GOP nominees--if only because he is the one with the most class, style and panache aka a sure winner.

Cain 2012! That is the ONLY candidate that I will vote for unless Bachmann or Santorum get the nod. I am not voting for a liberal which is someone who loves illegal aliens, sat next to Nancy Pelosi selling Global Warming, Flip flopper, etc. It will NOT happen!!!!!!!! Read and Heed!!!!!
