Well... my good friends and family of HISPANIC descent .. cannot abide the illegals, their job-stealing, their welfare abusing, and their progeny taking the spaces in University that their own LEGAL CHILDREN should have. So (not my) buddy... you don't have a CLUE as to what you speak.

Your patronization of illegals in this country is disgusting, not conservative and undermines our republic...... traitor comes to mind.

It would appear that TN is just a bit faster and stronger than good ole’ Texas. Get it right.

Again, read my tagline. What is a “reasonable program” that is not some form of the same thing Newt is talking about?

Everyone says “No amnesty.” So what if they say that?

Cain’s plan = Newt’s plan, roughly. That is simply the truth. He is not deporting all illegals which means he is offering some form of amnesty by definition.

You put down some of your own ideas as to how illegals could not be deported, but Cain has never said these things. He has, however, said what he has said. He wants an alternative to blanket deportation, which is exactly what Newt said.

The problem is that you don’t need a NEW path to citizenship. We already don’t HAVE to deport.

What’s the problem with simply saying deport all illegals if that’s what he supposedly means (which he clearly does not, and never says)?

Voter ID: Four or five states now have Voter ID laws. We in Texas in the Republican Party kept going to the legislature every two years trying to get our law passed. We did that for at least six years and Democrats in the legislalture kept voting it down. We finally got a majority in the Texas Senate (already had it in House), and got it passed this past session. Perry’s main involvement was signing it into law. It was hard work on the Republican Party’s side that got it passed.

The last I heard that law was in a court deciding if it was constitutional or not. I don’t know where that stands right now.

The Democrat position was it would prevent people from voting. I guess Democrats don’t carry driver’s license or Texas ID card or any other picture ID that identifies them.

Haven’t checked it, but figure person voting by mail will include a copy of picture ID when they return their ballot. However, for Democrats, it will be difficult to include a picture ID of dead people.

My Republican Chairman husband used to say Democrats put signs in grave yards to vote early.

Really, after 5 people talked about a no fly zone over Syria he was supposed to add his 2 cents? He added 2 cents but why should he play the game show game of would he install a no fly zone and declare war on Syria?

The bigger issue is our economy and securing our own oil supply. His answer seemed more dynamic and interesting than how we would control the ME. Course than I am not trying to trash other candidates to make mine look better like you are.

Who is your candidate?

Pray for America

"In primaries, every one should be allowed to support their choice without much rancor."

LOL...I was just about to ask, jokingly, "are you new here?" But then I checked your profile before posting and saw that yes, you are.

That attitude doesn't prevail here....not widely anyway. I respect people who support Cain, Santorum, Perry, Bachman....hell even Ron Paul. I just happen to think on balance that Newt's a better choice. Sadly, many can't look at it that way. They can't see how others might balance Newt's many admitted apostacies against his many strengths and conclude he's the guy they want to see up against Obama. Oh well.

For the record, though, I agree. But like the saying goes:

"Good luck with that."

Hank

I've had my disagreements with RitaOK, but your initial reply to her struck me as being a cheap shot.

Just my .02...

Now we can back to fixing the Country, one post at a time.

“Is that form for folks already in the US illegally?”

I suppose it is. If you need to be a citizen, you can fill it out and let us know how it goes.

A lot of the arguments make little sense. The action required is border control and drug control job one. The ones trapped inside must now be vetted. It requires a level line and a case by case existence here based on criminality. Upon that discovery, those allowed to stay must now apply for a “legal” status that results in a “green card”.

If people think that 30 million people are going to be deported, well, it isn’t going to happen.

OK. And you seriously want the GOP candidate to run on the platform of throwing the parents of 12 year-old kids who grew up here out of the country? I believe you. I also believe it’s a sure prescription for defeat and it will never happen.

Newt’s approach is eminently sensible. Distinguish between those who just got here and those who have roots. Don’t ever let them become citizens, but let those with roots stay. Is it perfect? No. But the country just isn’t going to do what you want.

Not gonna happen. Sorry.

Hank

Imigration is rightfully a very hot topic for most. I wish with all my heart the illegal invasion had not come so far as it has. And our government has basically encouraged it rather thancare to see the impact of it on our nation.

Mexico will fight any laws we establish as they derive so much of their governing revenues from those working here and sending money back to their country...not to mention the drug trade and all the other illegal activities they are known for.

I suspect, as you that Newt played his hand well tonight on the immigration issue as it would of been brought forward by the media anyway....he basically put it right out there for them and willing to see where it goes with the public.

And yes they’ll have the Holiday to think about it and no doubt some families will discuss it...but most won’t be watching much TV so however the media plays this the impact won’t be as might have been without the Holiday and travels of.

I actually enjoyed the debate though never am pleased on who they give time to. Can’t understand Wolf giving Paul the time he did except maybe becuase he was completely ignored at the last one...and he was. He’s impossible to listen to with all his shrilling and ranting.

I’m pretty much in Newt’s court at this time and really can’t imagine that will change...He can certainly go up against Obama...and has plans for righting this ship from day one I agree with....and just the initial plugging the holes will take him a good year or two before he could get anything going much more than to regain some of the ground this nations lost. So I am not concerned about that which I disagree with him on...and these are not primary concerns anyway, he won’t have much time for the little stuff...he’ll have his hands plenty full otherwise.

Gee, why has no one ever thought of that? Great idea.

But why stop there? Why not summarily execute them?
