Most of the candidates support the AZ law.

But you see what I am talking about. Cain has the same position as Newt on the issue of what to do with the millions already here - selective deportation, but not blanket deportation.

That’s all I’m pointing out. Both are to the left of Bachmann on the issue - who favors blanket deportation, and to the right of most of the others on stage who would not deport anyone or would give things like tuition breaks, etc.

Go back to Reagan...Newt’s pretty much taking the same stand.

You are absolutely right. My father came to the US in 1937 from Colombia, legally. He was very young, went to night school, became a citizen, and went right into the Army and fought in WWII for 3 years. He pledged himself to our country and raised his family as Americans. He fully assimilated and helped others coming here by telling them to be American and embrace this culture. I know many others of Latin descent like me with very similar backgrounds and we are conservatives! We are of the American culture. I observe that there needs to be a real bridge built between us and those of Anglo, European, and even Asian (many Indians, Vietnamese, Chinese, etc.) who are wanting to have real friendship and community alliance. This is possible and very crucial in advancing our culture. Look how effective the left is in pitting cultures and societies against one another, and conservatives do a poor job of uniting beyond their traditional base. There needs to be new alliances that will strengthen the American culture.

We must draft, nominate and elect Sarah Palin president in the most crushing tidal wave of enthusiastic good judgment ever seen in the history of this nation. With that one bold move we will accomplish the dual goals of seeing America led by the greatest natural born leader in our generation, even as we witness the final implosion and last agonized shrieks of our endlessly lying extreme left loonies. Their entire movement, from the fabricated attacks on Bush beginning with ‘Blood For Oil’ to the crammed-down-our-gullets lies of Obamacare and the Shovel Ready Stimulus, have been nothing but one vile deceit heaped upon another. Such an absolute inability to deal in the truth or to face the facts of our situation and its solutions only proves that there is simply no place at the grown-ups’ table for these diseased sputa. Good riddance to rubes and bad rubbish. Time to usher in the American Renaissance, carried in on the invigoratingly freshening breeze of President Sarah Palin.

>> At least he actually talked about who he’d deport. Bachmann, too. This has got to be the first campaign we’ve actually seen that.

That’s good. I’m watching the rebroadcast now.

For the most part, all candidates except Bachmann have essentially the same position on illegal immigration, and Bachmann is walking dead.

1. No deportation of most illegals
2. Some legal documentation to get illegals on the record.
3. Border security.
4. Non-return paths to citizenship.

That’s as good as it going to get.

****

Well, the ONE tonight who went a bit further, however, was CAIN who said to return the power to the States to enforce the laws. So far . . . that is about the best policy we have seen that really works - and to enforce the laws we already have.

Self deportation would happen in a second if all we did was stop welfare handouts to them.

I STILL have no idea WHY or HOW they get welfare. WHO rationalizes this or started them on it in the first place in such large numbers?

I think we should all be grateful to Newt. Judging from the polls, a good analogy would be the conservatives had stars in our eyes, thinking our “ex” Newt had finally “changed”. And like every other time, he screwed us over. Luckily, he did so before any vote was cast.

Thanks for the memories, Newt. Don’t hit your ass on the way out. And say hi to Ricardo for us, maybe you guys can get a job with La Raza together!

Thanks for your post about Sarah’s position on illegals. I was discussing it with a friend earlier and now I have more to give to him. Seems people are upset over Newt’s comment, but it is the only realistc approach to a very big problem. I have no problem with it.

2. As much as some Freepers drool over the idea of busloads of guys in sambreros handcuffed in a flatbed truck driving south on I-35, it’s just not going to happen.

You imply Freepers are racist for wanting to have enforced immigration laws just like Mexico and every other country south of the border. Does it matter for conservatives that the vast majority of recent immigrants, at every income level, vote Democratic?

Honestly, this is the first campaign I have actually heard candidates use the word “deport” as such (Gingrich and Bachmann).

That’s a plus, not a minus!

I agree, a bogus and shortsighted characterization.

I had a freeper in the debate thread call me a Neo Nazi for wanting deportation of all illegals.

The RINOs are really starting to pay shills to post here, aren’t they..

We must draft, nominate and elect Sarah Palin...

"Senator McCain and I agree on the big picture,
where it is that the country needs to go."

SARAH PALIN, 28 MAR. 2010

"I support [McCain's] position on immigration."
SARAH PALIN, 27 MAR. 2010

Sarah said on her Univision interview that “it’d not be humane” to round them up and deport them all. etc etc.

Read my post 109 for reference.

Funny seeing current and former Sarah supporters busting Newt over this.

I agree with your assessment. Purity we are not going to find in any of the candidates. If they are 100% conservative they have no chance nationally to win.
