This is unlike anything I've ever heard of in our history. I've never read anything about a spontaneous movement like this during the Depression.

Don’t worry. It can’t happen here. Honest. Really . . . right?

Dorsey himself admits that he does not have a personal supply of meals ready to eat stashed in his basement. “We live just two minutes from the store,” he said, “If something happens, I can drive right over here.”

Yeah, like the guy who lives one minute away wouldn't loot it first.

There were a lot of such people in the fifties and the sixties when nuclear war was a plausible possibility. Backyard bomb shelters and public "civil defense" shelters were a reality. It died away during the halcyon days of Reagan and Bush41, but now the evil is not an alien empire but a domestic band of traitors under the flag of the DNC. If anything the threat is more serious now than ever before.

Still, complete breakdown, such as the doomsayers envision, is just not in the cards, unless there is a nuclear attack with EMP and/or blast damage in major cities. I rate the probability of this as very low.

On my drive home today I seriously pondered the pros and cons of getting a civilian version of the M-4.

If I were wealthy, I would be looking to see what friendly nation I would set up an alternate residence in.

Let me put in a plug for some friends of mine at SurviveUSA in northeastern Arkansas, near Evening Shade. They are doing land-office business. www.surviveusa.com

Today’s market reaction to Germany was truly disturbing. GERMANY...not puny Greece or pathetic Italy. We may really have a BLACK Friday in 2 days, with the Dow down HARD. With Van Jones promising a “stage 2” of OWS next year, a “societal collapse” is not just possible, but probable.

It is reminiscent of the bomb shelter and survival crazes in the ‘50s and then again in the ‘70s. Isn’t it interesting that what drove those “survival” movements and this one was/is Marxism (Soviet Union).

In the face of all those, the Marxists and their useful Government out-of-control spending.

I find it equally ludicrous that the very person who demonized tax cuts now extends them and claims he’as a “tax cutter”. Yet, at least 40% of the population think he’s the smartest man on earth and it’s all Bushs’ fault.

Another day in Obamaland.

So how’s the “hope and change” working out for everyone?

Better off just making a pantry and filling it with long-term goods you normally eat, and rotating through it. Besides most things if kept cool and dry - if they are in sealed packaging - can be just fine years after their sell-by or best-by dates.

Remember that this is the first time in American history when people don’t have months worth of food stored. My grandmothers and my mother had large gardens and canned for the winter and spring. I do the same. People are making a run on these items because of that.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s a EMP blast, solar flares, Chinese or other enemy knocking down the electrical control system, communist/socialist riots interrupting basic utility functions, etc. Within days there will be a complete collapse of the major cities, all of the progressive pits of the US, because of a lack of electric. Society is nearly totally dependent upon electric for power, communications, transportation, etc. Within a week, you will not want to be anywhere near a major city. Read William R Forstchen’s novel “One Second After” and substitute any other scenario for the EMP attack, but the results will be the same.

"I've never read anything about a spontaneous movement like this during the Depression."

Telephones were still a novelty for most people, TV was an Oddity for most of the Depression. And Computers was the stuff of science fiction at the time.

People are more aware of the problems of the world in present day with the 24 hour news cycle and the rapid spread of info via the Internet.

There are two competing theories for the same time period, at the end of 2012. They are:
1. End of the world December, 2012 per Maya / Nostradamus whatever
2. Obama is reelected November, 2012 and is sworn in January 2013.
Not sure which is worse.

I bet a lot of requests have been made about how to process beef, sheep, goats and even horses.

First thing that will happen is everyone will start hunting down dairy cows and racehorses to eat, and they will start eating seed corn.

“Possible Collapse” hell! just as sure as Monday following Sunday it is coming. The fools, idiots, traitors, and parasites installed the mechanism in 2006 and 2008. In 2009, 2010 and 2011. The switches were turned on and the clock is running down. Right now they are trying to keep the sheep anestised until the 2012 election. Sometime after that, all hell will break loose.
