Climategate 2.0: New E-Mails Rock The Global Warming Debate

A new batch of 5,000 emails among scientists central to the assertion that humans are causing a global warming crisis were anonymously released to the public yesterday, igniting a new firestorm of controversy nearly two years to the day after similar emails ignited the Climategate scandal.

Three themes are emerging from the newly released emails: (1) prominent scientists central to the global warming debate are taking measures to conceal rather than disseminate underlying data and discussions; (2) these scientists view global warming as a political “cause” rather than a balanced scientific inquiry and (3) many of these scientists frankly admit to each other that much of the science is weak and dependent on deliberate manipulation of facts and data.

Regarding scientific transparency, a defining characteristic of science is the open sharing of scientific data, theories and procedures so that independent parties, and especially skeptics of a particular theory or hypothesis, can replicate and validate asserted experiments or observations. Emails between Climategate scientists, however, show a concerted effort to hide rather than disseminate underlying evidence and procedures.

“Any work we have done in the past is done on the back of the research grants we get – and has to be well hidden,” Jones writes in another newly released email. “I’ve discussed this with the main funder (U.S. Dept of Energy) in the past and they are happy about not releasing the original station data.”

The new emails also reveal the scientists’ attempts to politicize the debate and advance predetermined outcomes.

An anecdote for you....to point out EXACTLY how long this has been going on.

Back in college from 1968-72, one of the most active socialist professors on my campus was an English professor.

One day, I eavesdropped on a conversation he was having with some of his useful idiot disciples. During that conversation, I specifically remember him saying that the the socialist movement had been using the consumer movement for years to advance its agenda..but that the future for advancing socialism lay in the environmentalist movement..which was just getting started. The very first “Earth” Day was observed in 1970.

This has been going on for a hell of a longer time than 2002.

How very, very true..which is why, whenever I debate with a leftist, I refuse to let them start out by defining the meanings and definitions of the terms used in the argument.

Allow that..and they will always twist and redefine the meanings of words in such a way..that they’ve already won the argument before you’ve said a word, but if you hold fast..and refuse to accept their premises and force them to defend their arguments on the basis of logic..they are screwed.

Leftists can’t defend their superstitions on the basis of logic..which is why, the first thing any left winger ever does..is try to get you to accept his redefintions of words..before you even start debating.

Don’t allow them to do that, don’t accept their premises and stick to the facts....and you will never lose an argument with any of them.
