Sheriff Joe Arpaio to Endorse Rick Perry Next Week

Arlette Saenz

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the sheriff of Maricopa County, Ariz., who calls himself “America’s Toughest Sheriff,” will endorse Texas Gov. Rick Perry next week, a source with knowledge of the endorsement told ABC News.

Arpaio espouses a hard-line stance on illegal immigration, leading raids to round up and jail illegal immigrants, and was a major proponent of the controversial Arizona immigration law. Perry has spoken with Arpaio several times over the phone since entering the presidential race.

Arpaio, a much sought after endorsement in the GOP field, plans to campaign with Perry in New Hampshire next week, the source said. The Texas governor will be in the Granite State Tuesday and Wednesday, holding three town halls and a breakfast at the Nashua Chamber of Commerce along with speaking at the New Hampshire State House...

No no no. Random strangers on a Free Republic are to be trusted far more than the sheriff. Joe Knows Border Security.

We have 3 choices, Romney, Newt and Perry and only one has a conservative, job growth record and military background. That's Perry.

“Are you ignorant or a liar about “fee tuition?”?”

It was an exaggeration to make a point. But nevertheless, let me correct myself. The lawbreakers are only getting discounted tuition, feel better now?

“And Governor Rick Perry knows how to solve the employment situation.”

Right. I’m sure we can all look forward to another sneaky tax increase, like the one Perry pulled when he took advantage of the property tax swap and increased other taxes above and beyond what was necessary. That should help things.

Perry is a tenacious campaigner. He won’t give up until he is broke and beat in to the dirt. He is far from broke so Perry will be in the game for some time to come.

This is good. He's the best candidate we have.

You’re too busy beating down the better candidates while Romney smooth sails to the nomination. I am sure that is the intention, right?

That's a damn strong accusation to a conservative 11 year FReeper from a 20 day wonder or are you a retread zottee? No matter which, you're more full of crap than a Christmas goose.

Americans do not give a rat about the illegal issue.

That's why so many people got up in arms and stopped the amnesty bill a few years ago, right?

Unless we tie the illegal issue to the employment situation, most Americans will see it as a side issue. If you look at various polls you will see the issue down in the single digit numbers. Right now it is the employment situation. If you want to make the illegal issue a big one, tie it to the employment situation. Because the employment is so bad, make the case that the illegals are taking jobs away from those who need jobs. Many of the jobs could be employing ones kid who can’t leave home because they can’t find work. That’s how you can bring the illegal issue to the top of the list. Then these candidates would start putting on extra thinking caps before they treat the illegal thing so lightly.

Instead of saying, "From your lips... to God ear."

Say: "From your lips... to MGM/United Artists/Paramount/Columbia's ear!"

Them bums ignored me... when I was on the Left Coast trying to make it as a screenwriter!

Yes, immigration is on the top of the list for me...because it’s the number #1 reason why this country is going down the toilet. For Sheriff Joe to endorse an illegal alien supporter is so hypocritical....

I didn’t know Newt used the word “heartless.” Newt’s immigration comments reveal his dark side. The more I hear about Newt, the less I like him.
