NBC News has confirmed with a source familiar with the matter that Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, will endorse Rick Perry this week.

Arpaio will campaign with Perry in New Hampshire this week, the source said.

The Arizona sheriff is known as a vehement backer of tough immigration laws and was a vocal supporter of his own state's controversial enforcement laws.

Perry critics have described him as soft on immigration since the Florida debate, when he called opponents "heartless" for deriding his policy of in-state tuition for children of illegal immigrants in Texas. .

Perhaps Arpaio knows Perry’s views on immigration enforcement better than most of the posters on FR.

>> 95% chance that she will, next month. <<

100% chance that Perrybots will continue to CLAIM she's endorsed him next month, even if she's out campaigning for another candidate for President. They'll just continue to roll out the old dusty quote where Sarah Palin endorsed him over a couple of turds for GOVERNOR and photoshop her into their "Perry 4 President" banner. Perrybots truly have no shame. I'm surprised Newt's supporters haven't tried this yet, given that about 3/4ths of his fans on this board seem to be former Perrybots that realized their guy is now less likely than Ron Paul to win the nomination. The remaining Perrybots that are still on Ricardo's train have COMPLETELY detached themselves from reality. Perry will be the GOP nominee in 2012 the way Howard Dean was the RAT nominee in 2004. Yeeeeeeeeehah!!

>> I can’t believe how much traction Newt has here on FR. Makes you wonder. <<

Most of the pro-open types here simply gave up on Ricardo now that he's polling behind a 77 year old libertarian kook, and have attached themselves to another train heading towards the amnesty station. Makes you wonder...

>> moonshinner_09; South40; Impy; BillyBoy; Dengar01 ALL agree with you. The sheriff is a RINO!!! <<

I haven't even posted on this thread until now, Baladas, and certainly haven't made any comment about Sheriff Joe. That you seem to THINK I did only reinforces Fieldmarshaldj's point that Perrybots are deranged and resort to damnable lies to make their case.

Do you know about his "9-9-9" plan? Why didn't it impress the sheriff?

I expect you’re right.

After all, Perry did his best to get sanctuary cities banned in Texas—he even called a special session to do that.

Unlike Newt or Cain, he actually knows something about the problem.

It isn’t demoralizing - except for those who have been yammering about Perry’s views on immigration without really knowing or caring what the truth is. Arpiao has known and worked with Perry on this issue.

I doubt that Perry will be the nominee, but the Bachmann attack on vaccination and the immigration attack were little better than the “sexual harrassment” attack on Cain.

She hasn’t endorsed anyone yet. What atr you riled up about.

If endorsed Rick, you’ll be one of the exploding heads. Hurts, doesn’t it?

Do you handouts to foreign invaders is the ONLY problem that Perry has? Not by a long shot.

Perry is better on immigration issues than any other candidate on that stage.

He knows it inside and out, and he and Arpaio have discussed it for years. Joe knows exactly what he's doing by endorsing Rick!

The Newt Nutters can ignore Newt;s policy. Perry understand the perils of the border. Something the Newt is totally ignorant of.

I haven’t seen you here before so I guess you’re not on the ping list of people who show up to spray excrement over every Perry thread.

You know, those people constantly claim Perry doesn’t have a chance, yet they seem to be terrified of him.

Coming on every Perry thread to say stupid stuff is not gonna help Cain.

Cain is over. I know a lot of you really love him and I kinda respect that.

But Cain hates Perry and I think some of the Cain supporters are taking marching orders from him.

I don’t know why Cain hates Perry—he doesn’t hate Romney.

But there it is.

I did not like that the idea of him pinging YOU and the others to this thread - can’t anti-Perrybots stand on their own? That’s so fifth grade.

And, no, a formal endorsement - written and verbal is only going to do for proof.

I know enough about Perry to complain about several things -since he is our governor. He isn’t even my first choice, but most of what is posted about him here is thoughtless enough to do a liberal proud. He isn’t perfect, but I think he is much better than most on FR believe, and I also think he would be a better President than Governor, largely because of his strongly held views on federalism.

I’m glad. I know that Sheriff Arpaio is a hero for conservatives who want strong immigration laws and a secure border.

I stand with Cain!

As do I. He is the closest to Ronnie Reagan that we've had in a long time. On his best day, Perry is the next George W. Bush. (Note that I voted for W twice and contributed quite a bit to his campaigns).

Your friends have a ping list.

Every time a Perry thread is posted, the list is pinged and they obediently trot over here to post anti-Perry comments.

Most of the comments are just recycled trash including clever phrases like “LaRaza” Perry, etc.

I think most of them are Cain supporters, but Shield thinks they are democrat underground people.

Perrybots, as you love to call them, are actual grownups who do not have a ping list to call us to trash Cain threads or Newt threads or anybody threads.

If you think this behavior is appropriate or helpful in any way, you are wrong.
