"Anybody who is honest about it knows that no person except Christ has ever been perfect. So, I dont claim to be the perfect candidate. I just claim to be a lot more conservative than Mitt Romney and a lot more electable than anybody else," presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich told WSC-AM, a radio station in Charleston, South Carolina.
"We think there has to be a solid conservative alternative to Mitt Romney. And I think I'm the one candidate who can bring together national security conservatives and economic conservatives and social conservatives in order to make sure we have a conservative nominee," Gingrich said.

Mr. Getting Rich entered politics in ‘78 (I think) so he’s been getting rich ever since.
Partially true.
He’s a lot more electable than any other...democrat...including RINOmney.
That's rich coming from someone who's as big a flip flopper as Romney.
I’m a fan of Newt’s performances during the debates but am I the only one to find Calista as first lady a really weird thing?! She’s one strange looking broad.
A liitle plastic looking but I could vote for him. Certainly over Mooochelle.
Oh, barf!
Newt is short on humility and overstocked on ego.
Agreed. I shudder to think of the silt the MSM is gonna dredge up on her and re-dredge up on him.
Actually, you bring up something I’ve pondered about. Women voters. And if Gingrich were the nominee, would they be all hunky-dory with the notion of Calista as First Lady, when the media decides to play up big her history as Newt’s mistress-on-the-side for several years during his second marriage? Some folks just dismiss all this as “old news” or minor, irrelevant stuff. Maybe. But I do know some pretty traditionalist, old-time GOP women voters who really aren’t going to be very warm to the whole idea.
Not perfect like Jesus, but The Conservative One.
Why, he’s Mr. Wonderful, 2012—all things to all conservatives!
And if you don’t believe it, just ask him: Are you darned near perfect, Newt?
“Yes, I’m pretty darn wonderful, close to perfection with my only fault being my excessive modesty.”
At first I read flexible, that I could believe. Dyslexia maybe or premonition.
He’s just begun to come into the crosshairs...(if we can still use that metaphor).
If nothing else, how long before rumors of prior extramarital affairs start to emerge? Just as with Mr. Cain, when you have nothing else you can always pull that dirty trick out of the bag, because “he said - she said” will still probably let you kill 20-30% of the support for any conservative candidate.
Then we’ll be back to the last man standing: Romney. The one the Dems know they can beat.
“am I the only one to find Calista as first lady a really weird thing?! “
Well at least the back view of her going up the steps with Carla Bruni and the Italian first lady won’t look like Aunt Jemima. LOL!!!
Good point!!
The only GOP I want nominated is Cain, Santorium or Bachmann. All ofthem are flawed (yes, even Palin), but we are not electing a saint.
The media attack machine has given him breathing room, but that won’t last.
You may be right. My problem with Calista is mainly aesthetic. She looks plasticized - and it’s a somewhat scary look to me.
It seems to me that First Ladies (with the exception of Laura Bush) have gotten weirder and weirder over the years.
I have Cain and Bachmann swapping the lead back and forth with Santorum as an acceptable alternative.
The media doesn’t seem to have much success with digging up or even making up any dirt on Bachmann. They tried to accuse her of leaking national secrets but the info she spoke of has been in print for months so the story died before it ever got off the runway.
Romney is a full fledged rino and a bigger phony and fraud than Newt, and neither one is a true conservative or electable against Obama.
I think Cain is the only one who can pull Michigan away from Romney but it looks like the GOP is going to be stupid and throw us overboard again this year.
Here in the state we ran the table in 2010 amd the democrats didn’t pick up a single seat even down to the county races so naturally we can count on the national party to shrug and walk away.
Romney came to Michigan and stepped over the people on his way to the cash register and left without a word. Cain at least stuck around for a couple of days talking to the little people.
Basically you can count on Michigan going for Romney in the primary and Obama in the general because the GOP is incapable of learning.
Stealing Cain’s lines again..
cant wait for the announcement of the
hillary/Gingrich 2012 ticket, be sure to get the photo op on the couch
Have you been listening to Michael Savage? He calls Newt a old fat gray haired white guy...
