I don’t happen to think Romney will be the nominee.

“Conservative loyalty to the GOP is misplaced. The break will come eventually.”

Agreed. In my family, may dad (nearly 70) and mom (nearly 60), were both independents, with my dad coming from Republican roots, and Mom coming from Democrat roots. Over the years my dad has shifted to describe himself as Libertarian (though he disagree on a few issues with the “big Ls”), though I’m not sure what he is registered as anymore, and Mom remains independent, I think.

The party most closely aligned with my own beliefs is the Contitution Party, but I have never for one minute been sily enough to think that Republicans were conservative. There may be many many conservatives that align themselves into the Republican party because they have the two team sports mentality that the Founders warned against, but like you said, the break will [soon] come. Its gotten to the point of absurdity when 90%+ of Republicans are called RINOs. It should be obvious at this point, that they are not Republican “in name only” but that that is what the Republican party is, and that the Republican party isn’t conservative friendly.

I bet he wishes now he had either kept it in his pants or stayed out of the race.

I’d bet on the latter....... “stayed out of the race”.

Maybe I hope no one wins enough delegates to get the nomination and we get a real convention.

Cain HAD to know this would all come out..that they’d come after him..looking for ANYTHING..he didn’t prepare..didn’t tell his staff..and that alone, IMO, makes him not ready for day ONE in the Oval office..

Yep. If this woman's story is true, Cain should never have run. Or at the very least, he should have published all these peccadilloes in advance.

"The only reason... the ONLY reason he would consider this is because he doesn’t want the truth to come out about this woman. Clearly, IMHO, there must be some truth to what she is alleging"

His leaving the race will guarantee her a book deal. Ka-ching!

The woman supposed had a 13-year affair with this man, and all she can show as “proof” is a phone bill showing cell phone and text messages? So she has his number. Big deal. I have phone numbers for men in my cell phone address book, too, and I’m not having affairs with any of them. She says that he flew her around the country to be with him, and showered her with gifts. So lets see them. Where are the gifts? Airline boarding passes? Love letters? Pictures? Concert ticket stubs? Witnesses? Hmmmmmmm? C’mon, 13 years. Ya gotta do a lot better than that.

And the adultery issue doesn’t stop with Newt. He was having an affair with his current wife for 6 years before marrying her. While they both attended and consequently mocked her Catholic church. And she sang in the choir. That would make the potential first lady a known adulteress also. Don’t think I can go there.

It doesn’t matter. The RNC is totally irrelevent to me. I wouldn’t give a dime to the GOP if I were as wealthy as a socialist dictator.

Cain has been campaign flying by the seat of his pants for months. Cain has proven himself to be an empty suit on foreign policy and a relative know-nothing on domestic policy.

The drip drip drip from numerous accusers on numerous sex scandals may have damaged Cain beyond repair. Cain’s candidacy seems out of control.

Frankly, I don’t get this. Why is it ok for Newt to have multiple affairs, but a whiff of one from Cain, and he’s “reassessing” his campaign?

None of the candidates are perfect, but I predict that if Cain is forced out because of adultery, the media will come after Newt with a vengance on the same issue.

There is no truth about this woman. She’s has a very shady past.

He’s probably getting tired of the attacks and the toll they take on the family.

Axelrod will continue to dig up any woman who knew Cain with a questionable character, integrity issues, and financial need and parade them before a clucking press.

You didn’t read my post. You just linked to it. Your questions are answered there.

It is August of 1939. You are Jewish and live in Warsaw. You have seen the future. What are you going to do about it?

Are you a doom and gloomer, or a realist?

I think he’ll quit. This is why decent people don’t bother to go into politics because the personal, political and financial toll is just too high. Its just sad the media destroyed a man who could have made a difference. Not that they care.

Not really. Could well be the one area in which Cain was ‘careful’—or she wasn’t sentimental.

That is ridiculous—perhaps Jesus or God? Any of them could beat Obama—what a bunch of defeatists...

You are the type on the Right [supposedly] that the Left relies on to fold under pressure and then eat your own--they just mop up afterwards..
