BREAKING!! Aide: Herman Cain will stay in the race
The State Column ^ | Nov 29, 2011 | Staff

After reports surfaced Tuesday morning that pizza magnate Herman Cain is reassessing his 2012 Republican presidential nomination bid, POLITICO obtained a statement from a Cain campaign spokesman regarding his candidates’ consideration of dropping out of the race.

“Yes,” the campaign spokesman said Tuesday when asked whether Cain would “definitely” remain in the race.

The clarification comes after the National Review Online released statements that Cain made in a conference call with campaign aides Tuesday morning. During the call, Cain made the following statements, “We have to do an assessment as to whether or not this is going to create too much of a cloud, in some people’s minds, as to whether or not they would be able to support us going forth,” Cain said.

I like it. All detractors can go to hell, he’s staying in the race.

>> Cain will be OUT by the weekend, at the latest <<

Maybe not. Call me a cynic, but let’s follow the money:

As long as naive-but-well-meaning contributors are still sending him greenbacks, even at a much-reduced level, he may have a sufficient incentive to stay in the race.

Also, if he gives up now, it may hurt the sales of his book.

“If everyone sends $10 every week or so he’ll have plenty of money. Most importantly, he will be beholden to no one but the people.”

I am a $9.99 per week contributor. That is what I can give and you’re right, if we had 100,000 people that can only give that much, his fundraising will do fine.

Doesn’t matter to me. If you want to be guided by Obama’s Chicago way of eliminating Obama’s competition (see how he won his Senate seat), so be it. I will contribute to him regardless. But by all means, you keep following Obama’s scorched earth strategies.

Cain is faltering, I have always wondered when people would tire of his vague answers on how he would arrive at a solution.

He needs to move back into private life.

But be prepared, this is what Newt will experience up to the day of election. America will tire of Newt’s past that the media will play everyday.

I was watching Bret Baier’s panel pronounce him “toast”; *finished*; *done*; *out*.

Reminder to watch Herman Cain tomorrow on Neil Cavuto’s program. Fox News Channel at 4:00OM EST; 3:00PM Central; 1:00PM Pacific.

He will answer all questions and talk about moving on with his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination.

What’s the man supposed to do?

Sue a woman with no money?

He’s already destroyed.

Cancer failed to kill him, but it looks like a bunch of liars, opportunists, and pussy republicans did.

You should go ahead and leave now.

America doesn’t deserve Herman Cain.

I’m with you on this one but another FReeper did make a good point. Mitt knows he has a problem with the base and is doing his best to avoid agitating us but Newt seems to be trying to anger us.

With Cain staying in, it may only help Romney by splitting the conservative vote.

If you truly believe this, then tell us who you think is the only candidate who should remain in the race against Romney?

We won’t ever have decent people run again.

It’s suicide.

At this point, I think America is pretty much done.

Thanks Jim...glad to hear this good bit of news.
Now, I look forward to him addressing this affair issue, put it quickly and decisively behind him,and get back to the issues at hand.
BUT...
if it turns out this affair is real,it's going to damage him.

I have been with Newt for quite some time. Whether Cain stays in or not ...I don’t believe he will win the GOP nod for president. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Newt.

The history of Presidential primary campaigns, just like stock in a company, is “up” and “down”. This one is no different. There will be a backlash. You just watch. It happened a month ago. I predict it will happen again. His base will be fortified and electrified and will go on offense ($$$) against the Establishment which planted, and then disgusting people in the Republican Party who stirred the storm even further, this high tech lynching. And as I always say, if the Establishment knocks out the biggest threat to them, they will then turn on what or whom they perceive to be the next biggest threat and go ballistic on them as well, scorched earth, hard ball, no prisoners. Take it to the bank. No one is safe from this dirty trick-”oppos” scourge (except the GOP candidates they can live with, who will either govern as RINOs if elected, or who will be so boring that the GOP base will not turn out for them and Obama will be in for another four years—which of course is what they really want. Paramount is control of both major political parties at the senior levels). There is so much verifiable on Obama that they could have hyped like this incident, but as we know, they worship at the feet of Emperor Obongo, and they quake in their boots at the prospect of an eloquent Black successful conservative articulating Reagan-based principles, with so much national exposure in the media as a Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate which would screw up their whole Democrat Minority Entitlement Narrative Racket (DMENR), that they cannot countenance it.

I think Cain should just very publicly tell her to “prove it, come forward with the blue dress”...
