Rick Perry may be stuck near the bottom of the polls among those vying to become the Republican nominee for president, but he might still enjoy a second act, according to veteran journalist Cokie Roberts.
Hes got the resources and nobody else does, she said during a press conference before the A Conversation with a Legend fundraiser for the MD Anderson fundraiser in San Antonio Tuesday. If we do see Newt Gingrich self-destruct, which I think is highly likely, and Romney continue to sit there at 23, 25 percent, then people will start looking around again. Roberts, a political commentator for ABC News and National Public Radio declared that its too late for anyone else to enter the race, so Perry could get a second look from a lot of Republican voters, although she did say she felt that scenario was unlikely.

Well 49 days later I have come back to Newt.
I had grown disenchanted with his accommodating views on Global Warming, reaching across the aisle tactics, smiling photo ops with Pelosi, etc.
But after his last debate performance I am enthused that we have the old Newt back again. I just hope he stays on this bold track.
Congrats for sticking up for him.
Perry should stay in the race as a placeholder if nothing else. No telling what’s going to be coming out in the next couple weeks concerning the ‘frontrunners’. JMHO.
Well...thanks...nice of you to say that. I love the guy....no one is always perfect, but I really believe he is the best choice to be our President....I am glad you are back on his side...
