If he doesn’t stumble this month and Cain drops out, it’s absolutely possible that he’ll run the table in the early states. Unlike in other years, that itself won’t cinch the nomination — Romney’s got the cash and organization to press on, and there’ll be time before Super Tuesday for Newt to cool off — but still.

Well, any operative (or at least his handler) with a single brain cell would know that EVERY post couldn’t be about Newt. And I was speaking collectively. You guys are doing a great job. Obviously. Again, you sure aint no “buzz kill”. Agreed? What exactly have you killed? Anyone else’s chances of winning? Yep, and that’s about it. Mission accomplished.

That said, it is good to hear the sound of Romney getting crunched into the gravel. Finally.
I see him that way too, but narcissism is almost a prerequisite for politicians who aspire to high office. Decent people who accurately assess what the job demands and what they can bring, will almost always turn away.
A cop has to pass a psych screening test in most cities. Politicians who are far more powerful? Nothing, except the election ordeal itself.
