Cain to End Candidacy Tomorrow? (Major Announcement tomorrow.)
Big Government ^

Posted on 12/02/2011 11:35:32 AM PST by sunmars

Embattled presidential candidate Herman Cain is inviting his top supporters and donors to Atlanta on Saturday for a meeting in which he will give them advance word of whether he intends to continue his campaign, sources close to the campaign said Friday.

One supporter who has been summoned to the private session said he believes that Cain is likely to announce he is ending his candidacy.

Another who has been invited to the morning meeting says attendees have been told he has made no decision, but wanted to meet with some of the supporters to express his gratitude.

Several sources indicated that Cain is likely to announce his plans publicly at a news conference after the meeting. Cain had already scheduled an event on Saturday — the grand opening of his national headquarters in his hometown of Atlanta, as well as the announcement of his campaign’s freshly minted senior leadership team for the state of Georgia.

If Cain drops out, the Obama-Axelrod Smear Machine will turn to their next victim, flush with victory.

I haven’t forgiven Cain for tring to blame Rick Perry. He knew darn well Rick Perry had nothing to do with the leaks but he continued to blame him.

Cain was extremely ugly to Perry all along from dissing him as a racist on Meet the Press to his insistance that Perry was responsible for his babe problem.

I don’t feel much sympathy because my candidate has been unfairly accused of stuff that he actually didn’t do.

I'm not so sure. I think they believe they can beat either Gingrich or Romney and will leave them alone until the general. If someone like Perry would pick up steam again, I think they might go after him.

Yes, Perry would be a fine president.

He has a proven record of accomplishment in Texas and is a hundred percent conservative.

I cannot understand why so many people on this forum have dismissed him.

You’d better believe there is nothing in his past to trip him up, or the dems, libs and lib press in Texas would have discovered it long ago.

And the media-Chicago thugocracy can do to any of them exactly what they did to Cain.

You don’t seem to get it. It doesn’t even matter who the candidate is or what they’ve done. What matters is what lies the Obama people can get to stick. As long as we step right into the doo-doo they put in our path, it’s all going to end badly.

I’m not idolizing Cain or any candidate. Everybody is fallible. I just see the marriage of the media and Axelrod’s Chicago as dangerous to the very existence of this nation, and I see nobody who is willing to take them head-on.

To be truthful, as I watch what’s going on I see a lot of people who make me fear that this nation has never been as great as I thought it was. Maybe we’re just a pitiful sack of excrement and we should be glad that the place is coming to ruins.

How’s that for good cheer.

Well, you may have noticed that, in Perry’s case, no bimbo came forward.

So anybody who doesn’t have videotapes of every minute of their life isn’t prepared - because if there’s any one minute that is unaccounted for, the creeps and crooks can invent some heinous act and claim that you did it then - and unless you can prove them wrong you are just as guilty as if you had actually done what they claimed.

Right?

They can try to bring any candidate down and I’m sure they will.

And, I’m really sorry because I can read your hurt and disappointment, but they could not have brought Cain down if there was nothing there.

"What does surprise me is that everyone who is dropping their support for Cain for his possible affair is moving to Newt who definitely had one."

They are dropping because his campaign is floundering, not"because he had an affair." It still is not clear that he had an affair. She has no pics? She can't name time and place in the last 13 years? How come the press in all these appearances NEVER ASKS these obvious questions. Without her giving specifics, there is no way to prove an affair actually occurred. I communicate with women many times a day without telling my wife. So what? It's business and connections that one keeps up in his line of work. The only thing on him is that he (the guy with the rather large allowance because he's rich) gave her some money. That's it. Should he have told his wife? Yes.

Well, they aren't done throwing them at Cain yet.

They would wait until Perry has the nomination before they start destroying him.

"Im sick about this. I dont like any of the other candidates. This is the Elites way of saying “Romney!”

Laura Ingraham this morning was in a near panic that the primaries might begin without the nominee already being decided, and the nominee might end up being selected by the people instead of the the press and pundits which she believes is their God-given right. Dartmouth girl, she thinks she's superior to the rest of us. Her and Harvard Hugh, both of them in a snit. I used to like them, but they're just Ivy League elitist snobs like the rest.

WHY do we have to have the nominee selected 10 freaking months before the election? If I could wave my wand and have one Constitutional Amendment pass (other than the Life Amendment), it would be that no primaries take place before June. The Eternal Campaign is not a good idea.

They can’t destroy Perry with bimbos.

They can distort his record, which has been done in spades, but he can refute that with the truth.

Rick Perry has fought the dems, the libs and the lib press in Texas and none of them has been able to find a bimbo.

And have you seen Anita? She’s adorable.

I liked Perry also, but I don’t want to be a part of a party that basically turned its back on a conservative and gave us a choice between two different CINOs.

I’ll go third party or just ignore politics altogether if Cain gets done in like this, before even a single vote is cast.

Well of course they can. Nobody says it has to be true. Just cast doubt in the minds of voters...and pay off the lying ACORN operatives.

And have you seen Anita? She’s adorable.

Yes she is...all the more reason they can. See if they can get her fretting, wondering if it's true.

Sad.

Perception is everything.

You have to have an honest assessment of your weaknesses and failures and prepare on how your going to confront the accusations when they, inevitably, come out. This is a high stakes war. If you don't want to train and prepare and then fight, stay at home.

The time to do that was THE instant that the first allegation was dropped. Let it be a lesson to future candidates (who have nothing to hide). I’ve been a big Cain supporter but I know how I would have responded if I was him and I was innocent of the charges. The gloves would ‘ve been off immediately. Herman still has his gloves on.

Americans don’t elect rank amateurs president. They have always demanded some experience in getting elected to public office for their presidents. Why in the world would you think Cain was an exception? Victorious leadership in war is the only exception. And I am not talking about the Pizza Wars.

And why in the world would Cain think he can start at the top?

Laura Ingraham? The same one who claims to be conservative yet often turns over her show to her ‘good pal’ Tammy Bruce, the pro abortion lesbian? That Laura Ingraham?

Politics is a profession and demands professionals. In America it has ALWAYS been a profession. Plato called political science the highest art.

Leadership has to arise and survive through political struggle, Cain had none of the experience necessary to stay credible.

People are so desperate for conservatives that they will grasp on any new face even those which will be of on lasting consequence. Cain couldn’t even win a Senate seat from Georgia. Why in the world would serious people think he could win the nomination?

He had best go away quietly.
