Hard to fathom Cain using the words "we will be opening our headquarters" if the announcement is going to be that he is dropping out.

I like the suggestion from this author:

If I were Cain, I would leak a story that I was quitting – to Politico (for fun); then go to the podium tomorrow with Gloria, have her hold my hand in the air, and have HER yell “The Cain train is still on the track!” It would stun the media, and re-energize his campaign. And most importantly, it would inoculate future conservatives against the mainstream media smear machine once and for all.

Maybe, when he says he’s opening his headquarters, he means the front door of his house. :)

It’ going to come down to whether or not he has lost financial support.

There is no doubt I am a cynic...but it could well be that Mr. Cain is buying a few days time to determine what impact all this is having on his campaign. “Opening his headquarters”, filing for the distant primary in a state and sending out a campaign donation solicition e-mail.

If he has any type of positive response I think he’ll stay in or “suspend” his campaign.

Negative response...he has already laid the ground work (wife, family) to gracefully bow out.

Signed,

Berdie, The Cynic

I watched Cain make that statement on the news earlier today, and I couldent se how that would make anybody think he was quitting, however, the commentator thought he was quitting, we will see tomorrow

I wonder if Cain’s big announcement (with major supporters in attendance) could be that he intends to file a defamation suit(s) if he continues his campaign and therefore intends to ask them if/how they want to proceed. He’d need their money and support for any legal challenge. If they say “no more money,” then he must decide whether or not he can continue his campaign without clearing his name. Perhaps the reassessment is just that - a reassessment of his campaign options: move on with lawsuit, move on without lawsuit, suspend, or withdraw.

(No, I’m not a Cain supporter or a fan.)

He is going to go scorched earth on them for their attacks, and stay in the race. All indications are of this. The RINO talk radio show hosts better get used to the concept that Herman Cain is going to be around and his supporters are now going to raise all kinds of payback hell (primarily against the Obama/Axelrod Machine) which engineered these smears and anyone else who had a hand in spreading it or amplifying it.

I honestly think, that if Herman Cain, is honestly innocent of every single thing that he has been accused of (and to be honest, I do think he is innocent), he should seriously, sit down, and with a clear head, consider, taking a baseball bat to the heads of his campaign staff.

These guys have mismanaged Cain, over and over again, from how NOT to do crisis management, to how to take a charismatic mathematician and successful businessman and make him look foolish.

Seriously, look at how these guys have screwed up with him. They have him running ragged with no rest doing interviews, and when he gets tired, they keep him going in front of cameras where he can flub......Try doing a media interview with a hostile press, on just a few hours of sleep, and see how well you look.

They totally botched tutoring him on foreign affairs, and its not like he lacks the capacity to learn and command it, the guy has judgement, he has shown an amazing ability to learn the complex, command it, and communicate it, so shorting him on it is pretty darn foolish.

He is a former baptist minister running as a conservative, and he flubs answers on abortion ? Who the hell is coaching him ? Rich Kotite ? (former jets head coach).

He gets accused of sexual harassment, and they have no idea how to respond, hell, its not even the Cain campaign thats finding out that these women are B.S. artists, its other conservatives, and hell even the liberal media.

My only real gripe is that, maybe he doesn't have great judgement in hiring people, and thats a very legit concern.

Please keep in mind, I'm not even on the Cain "train" or a Cain supporter, and I can see the issues here.

The timing to take Cain down was executed with military precision. He can certainly stay but at this date it is hard to imagine where he is going to grow his support from.

Mr. Cain said it plain when he said that BIG money was behind these women coming out of the woodwork-—I say Soros...
